Comment:

Poorest quality math professor at OSU (and I've had 10 now). Impossibly difficult exams (class averages were in the failing range for every exam). Bad attitude toward students who ask for help. Says everything is "obvious." Avoid at all costs.

Gets sidetracked easily and loses his place often. I think his lectures confuse, more than clarify, the material. He has a cool accent.

His accent is difficult and his lectures are pointless. He reads right off the projector slides that come straight out of the book. I took calc in HS but somehow got a C in this class. Try to find a diff prof for this class or really utilize the math lab with the TA's. Nobody checks your calculator for exams so put in some programs w/ the equations

The lectures were pointless: Often he made mistakes and generally it was hard to grasp concepts: Going to Recitation is a MUST. On the positive side, seems like a very nice guy, maybe I just had a bad experience.

Yuval was a nice guy and very knowledgeable. However, 60% of the problems assigned for homework were not even graded or discussed in class. Also, reviews before midterms were not very valuable. Although I made it out alive, I think I would have enjoyed the other section more.

Don't even think about taking a class with him. He is useless, his hws are tough, and he won't do any of them on class.Exams are hadrer than hws. He just uses example from the book in lecture. i made one of the worst decisions in my life to take it with him

His explaining of the concepts was not great but not bad either. The homeworks were very time consuming but very useful. And he would spend a good deal of time going over them in class. I went to his room a few times and he was really helpful. Good teacher overall.

Heh, I skipped all of his lectures except the first week to see if he was good. Gave him a redeeming shot on the midterm review, and left 10 minutes in because he's simply that useless. The book was very helpful in that class, but expect to teach yourself everything if you have him.

He is a very nice person, but not a very good professor. He knows what he is talking about and will try to help you, but does not have very good communication skills. But like any other math class, you do not need to go to lectures if you can figure it out on your own from the book.
