people think he's hard, but you just have to know that in order to do well you have to EARN your grade. LARC helps a lot, and so does the book. Towards the 2nd half of the quarter i stopped going to class. Ended up with an A- because the quizzes saved me.

To be honest, he was pretty nice. He does read from the slides, but he goes at a steady pace and is open to questions during the lectures. He has a strong accent, though, so it can be hard to understand him sometimes. But he is willing to help you as long as you make the effort. (He also gave us more chances for webassign which was super helpful)

This class was a really challenging for me. Quizes are sometimes straight out of lectures so read lecture power points. For midterms and finals 2/5 of the test is straight from the book. Avoid reading chapters..just do A LOT of problems to prepare for the test. I did okay on midterm and horrible on final but the curve helped me pass!

I don't know why everyone hates this guy so much. When we had trouble with webwork, he added additional tries, if I had questions he stays after lecture to answer them in person, on his tests he gives LOTS of partial credit (except on quizzes) Overall a VERY nice guy. Physics is just a hard subject for most and they blame the professor instead.

AVOID, this guy is uncomprehensible, cant understand him. tests are very hard, he grades hard gives very little partial credit. if answer is off by .01, he counts it as wrong. just an overall smart person with no teaching ability at all. he also needs to learn english. i spend 6 days trying to figure out majiement meant measurment

He's the best professor I ever had in the history of my college career. He goes over the material in an a well organized manner and is very clear with what he's trying to say. If you ask him any questions he will give you the answer right away and will make sure that you understood the material. His midterms and final are sooo easy. If you have the

physics 7a. He teaches straight from the book. Lectures are understandable but no use going as he does not clearly explain questions. Stopped going to class and did fine studying on my own. Tests are passable if studied a lot. they are like practice he gives out. Dont fall behind and you can do good. Curve is large as avg. is 55 %.

Have to try really hard to understand him, and if you can, he knows what he's talking about. Discussion and larc helps a lot. His first test was easy, but they got harder. Midterms are 3 problems and final is 6. Problems on tests are similar to book problems or those he did in class. Do well on quizzes cuz they're grade boosters.

READ THE BOOK and go to discussion. thats my best advice for this class. he is very hard to understand just becasue of his accent but this guy is a genius. you know he knows his stuff but hes just one of those guys that should stick with theory and research and not teach. if you are as lucky as i was to get a great TA you should do fine

-VERY hard to understand. Has very strong chinese accent. In lectures, I was there physically, but 1000 miles away mentally. His practice midterm + final are very helpful. Got a 31/50 on midterm and 52/100 on the final and still pulled an A in the class so the curve helps ALOT. Just read the book and you'll learn more than lectures.

Notes Pretty much copied from the book.Doesn't tell you when the quizzes/homework is due so you have to do both every week for the discussions.Class was hard, but since the curve was low, it raised everyones grades.I also took LARC so that is why I didnt do so bad in his class. Based on what everyone else says, he was hard...

Horrible class. Lectures weren't comprehensible, everybody stops going around the third week after they realize it's useless. I only kept going to simply know what material we were covering so I could go and learn it on my own. Average on the final was a 33/100, with lots of partial credit awarded. Huge curve but didn't matter. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Worst techer I have ever had. He cant speak english and his grading is terrible. DO NOT take Lin. If you have no other options, which was my case, put it off for a quarter and take someone else. You will learn nothing and most people stopped going to class and those that did fell asleep. avoid this teacher at all costs!!

Hands down, this is the worst teacher I have had so far. His lectures don;t help at all, the homework takes at least 4 hours to finish, which is turned in and graded by picking a random number to grade, his office hours are right after the discussion sessions, so you cant go to him and ask for help on homework, and his tests are pretty hard.
