Comment:
He glosses over concepts assuming everyone understands everything previously, sometimes hard to understand, very sloppy writer on the whiteboard during lectures, and he isn't clear on what exactly we need to retain from the book/lectures. He is willing to help, but hes not very good at explaining things to students who are struggling. Donot recomm

Took 4 weeks to even understand his expectations. Work wasn't graded expeditiously, so it was sometimes hard to know where I stood PRIOR to a major test, which is unacceptable. Assignments sometimes lacked claritywere ambiguous. Concepts chosen for instruction were more like those found in an EE program. Challenging for all the wrong reasons...

Ali Ghane is awesome! Anyone who thinks this class is hard is just not trying. His quizzes and tests come from the textbook company, so they can be found online. He grades the labs on effort, not accuracy. He has a friendly personality and is approachable. The only thing I do not like is the group paper. I prefer to work alone as I am more focused

Hard to understand him sometimes, doesn't understand we aren't CS majors, though says we arent a lot but expects us to do it. Tests are all vocab, and little demonstration of skills. Doesn't work with you if you miss quizzes.

Unless you learn by reading and not through lecture at all, you will not get a good grade in this class, i have never gotten a c in my life and for this course i have to struggle to maintain even that

Worst professor I have ever had. Boring classes, very, very hard to get to know what he expects or what to study for his quizzes, which by the way have only 2 or 3 questions which makes it harder to obtain a good grade. Not to mention that some questions are about material not covered in class.

Generally an easy class. If you have problems, talk to him any time in person and he will work with you. It was boring, but not his fault. Take this for a Gen Ed if you are not a science person.

If you really want to learn networking, you need to find another teacher. This instructor does not know as much as he should. He likes to let people our early and assign parts of a project rather then actually teaching much. So if you want an easy A, you'll like him. But pity you when you grow up and go for a job interview.

Ali is difficult. It is hard to determine exactly what he wants you to learn - this makes it difficult to actually study for quizes and tests. On the other hand, the grading seems a bit arbitrary, so get on his good side, work hard and you should do well (as in A's).

Ok overall. Willing to help when students are having trouble with networking concepts and definitely knows his field, but seems to gloss over certain things a little too often. Not a fantastic teacher, but not the worst by any stretch of the imagination.

Ok teacher. a little hard to understand. slow to answer E-mails. Fusses about going to class, and supposedly only allows 3 absences, but doesn't take attendance. Wasn't helpful when I asked about working ahead because I allready know computers.
