Comment:

Dr. Jones is sure to answer your questions promptly and keeps the class entertaining. There were 3 papers throughout the course and a proctored midterm, but as long as you read you'll do fine. He uses a reading guide that is supposed to help you with studying but I did better when i just read the chapters and highlighted areas of importance.

Jones is a great professor. He was my first upper level history professor. He is easy to talk to and IF you talk to him, he is very willing to help and explain anything you don't understand. He can get a little sidetracked in lectures, but it's just because he loves history so much that he goes off on another spiel. You need to go to class .

Comment:

Great teacher! Very passionate about his subject and keeps it interesting. Totally a lecture class so attendance is super important but he doesn't require you to memorize specific dates for tests. Only 1 or 2 papers but he doesn't grade very hard. If he can tell that you know the information and read the book then you should be good.

I came to Troy as a Junior and have had Dr. Jones for three upper level history classes and will be taking a fourth just for fun. He is by far my favorite History professor still at Troy and his book is great. He is a great lecturer and extremely knowledgeable. Take him you will not regret it. (and he has a really cool personality)

Awesome professor And very passionate, knows his stuff. Never miss a class. Obessed with coffee and downtown Abby. Grades on a curves but no extra credit make Sure to study.....he deserves more chili peppers.Invites people to lecture on test days, has a sense of humor Brings history to life.

Dr. Jones is an amazing teacher. I would highly recommend him to anyone taking Western Civ. However, you do need to make sure you come to class, take notes, and study the map! I personally never read the book and still got a high B. if you don't come to class and take the notes you won't pass, simple as that. Awesome teacher!!

He is an amazing Professor. Great at his job. He hates cell phones, so don't let him catch you with it. As long as you study the maps and take notes you won't have any problems. Also read the chapters if you want extra clarity. He is funny and makes it interesting. I will be taking both Civ I and II with him. I highly recommend him.
