Dr. Miller is one of the sweetest professors I've ever taken. Early amer. lit has tough material, but she knows her stuff and makes it easy. 2 papers, midterm, final each with only 2 questions on them. Creative nonfic is an awesome class, 6 4-page papers about anything you want. Not a very tough grader, friendly, helpful, all around awesome.

If you're a really good writer (e.g., get A-'s/A's on all your papers), then you don't need to talk during class discussions or even read the book for discussions. No quizzes or tests for her creative nonfiction class. Just sat there, talked, peer-reviewed each other's papers, and left. Very easy but very boring.

Ok so I'm a total slacker who doesn't usually like to go to any classes (I mean this semester alone Im taking 3 online classes), but this lady was pretty funny and she is the best at the end of the fall when the weather starts to get bad, she called off class 3 weeks in a row. She's a great teacher, I highly suggest her.

Any comment that says she's hard was just written by a slacker who didn't want to do work. If you do your work, and show effort and actually try, she'll like you. If you're funny or interesting, she'll like you. She's hard to get used to, but now I want her to be my grandmother. She's amazing and I would take her again for every class if I could.

Personally I do not like writing papers, nor am I good at it. However, this professor really wants you to improve. She cares about the students and gives extremely helpful comments. You realy need to work for the grade. As, stated before, I don't like papers. This class was just a gened for me. But, I enjoyed every minute. her discussions are great

Papers were criticized heavily - but not with constructive criticism. The peer review was useful. Would not recommend taking this class with her.

I had taken miller last semester for a lit course and found her to be pretty good, so i signed up for her course again-- big mistake. she cannot teach writing to save her life. she's a nice woman, tries to entertain the class, but i've gotten nothing out of it... and she talks TOO much about irrelevant topics.

Worst teacher at MSU. She is unclear, sarcastic, and boring. She does not teach she goes off on tangents most of the time with her personal views about politics and her grandkids.Sitting in her class for the term was like having a bad toothache and wearing a bad pair of shoes while standing all damn day. With the 2008 Elections students beware.lol

Early American Lit: Not the most exciting subject, but I got through it. She does tend to go off on a tangent, sometimes for the entire class period. Reading is mandatory, if you don't read you are lost, and it's a LOT of reading. If you're a good BS'er, papers and tests can be a breeze. I hope to take another of her classes in the future.

You have to read. Prof. Miller is one of the best teachers at the university. She is tough as nails, but if you are willing to put in the effort, you will learn. Honestly if you want an easy A don't take the class. If you want to learn take Miller. GREAT PROF!!!

I took women world. She isn't too too bad. She talks alot but she says some funny stuff. I think some has to do with the people that are in the class. My class was funny and interesting. The course work includes a 6 page paper at the end of the semester and 8 journal entries throughout the semester. They were 2 pages each.

She gives us feminists a bad name! I dropped her class because I felt that her attacks on men were used to insight reaction instead of promote progressive thinking. Not to mention the use of racial and religious stereotypes! I was not impressed and would not recommend her to anyone with a serious interest in feminist thought.

Professor Miller is passionate about women's rights around the world. BRAVO! It is not left wing for everyone to have the same opportunities for a rewarding life. Enjoyed her class but as an English professor she rightfully expects a well written paper. Women's Worlds is a course everyone should take!

She has a passion for teaching... that is why she loves to talk. I found her topics really interesting to listen to. There are no tests but you are required to write in class a couple of times. Be prepared to write a decent amount of papers and make sure you use the spell check before you hand them in.
