Dr Koehl is a very nice guy and offers great feedback if you ask for it. However, in PHL 202 you do way too much work for a gen ed class. If you can, take this class Freshman or Sophomore year when you aren't taking more important classes for your major, otherwise the work feels like a waste of precious time.

Took the online class, and the professor did not provide much feedback. Some assignments were graded halfway through the course and then nothing for the rest of the semester. Wasn't sure what I needed to study/review for the final with not much graded. He is a nice person though

He will not give a good grade to a person that he disagrees with on a topic, no matter how strong of an argument you make. Don't share facts or truth, his mind is made up. Very arrogant! Pointing out holes in his logic is a death sentence. If you want a good grade, just agree with everything he says; want a great grade, tell him how smart he is

I had him for Phil Ethics my first semester. His class is a lot of work, but you can work as much ahead as you want. He is clear with what he wants and he makes class interesting. We had a small class and it was like a little family. Plus, hes got a charming side which doesn't hurt.

A good amount of homework, lectures weren't the highlight of the class. Debates were probably the best part. I suggest to work ahead in this class since everything is done online.

This class was a hell of a lot of work. I never could get the hang of the quizzes, but he dropped the two lowest grades. Group debates were the best part, but we had two students that didn't show. Koehl made me laugh hard a few times. Class is fast paced and fun. I recommend it (and it is required anyway so take it).

Koehl takes a real interest in students, and classes involve a lot of discussion. We have class in a coffee shop and when the weather is nice we meet outside. I have a good feel for modern philosophuy now and understand why it's important for understanding faith v. reason and for doing apologetics.
