Interesting prof. Very smart but definitely not willing to give you all of the answers. Work hard and he'll give you some push in the right direction. Gives plenty of time for projects in-class, just show up and get it over with. Grading criteria not abundantly clear. I think this was his first time teaching this course, but he did well.

I only took Andy's intro class but was disappointed. I'm an A student and got a B from him. He challenges you and makes you think critically but unfortunately is not much of a teacher when it comes to learning the basics. It'll be a lot of independent learning if you take Andy. He is knowledgeable but just a tad arrogant.

Overall a very good professor. If he sees that you have the ability to do well he'll push you to do it. He doesn't ever give you a solution to a problem, but rather gets you going in the right direction. With Andy it's about learning how to problem solve in the real world, not just the classroom. He has lots of knowledge, so ask questions.

Andy IS one of the best Art professors on the IUP campus! He is a GREAT guy, very personable and REALLY cares about his students. I have learned SOOOO much from him, not only about Graphic design but life in general. He really tells you how it is and wants to make you the best at what you do. ANDY IS AN AWESOME PERSON

I had him last semester for intro to graphic design, and he has been by far my favorite art teacher. A genuinely nice guy. He asks you do do things that are hard and make you think, but if you put a little effort into your work, you'll find what he asks isn't impossible. He's a prof that you will need to ask questions of to get through the course

Andy is by far the best prof. on IUP. I would reccomend him to anyone. You could ask him the same question 10 times and he'll still answer it until you understand. He prepares you for the real world and doesn't sugar-coat anything. If you did badly, he'll tell you and if you're smart you take it in.
