Nice guy-- but one of my least fav classes taken at SU. Lectures are not really that specific, and considering how tough his tests are, they really should be. Eventually I just started taking notes straight from the txtbook during class in order to ensure I got all the material. Study lots. I'm a 3.8 gpa student and this class was rly tough for me.

Comment:

Really awesome guy! He can be hilarious at times and enjoyable to listen to. The material can be boring. Quizzes are all fill in the blank (no word bank). Not hard if you study. Tests are mostly multi choice but incredibly tricky. You really need to study for the tests. The material is not hard, but he makes it seem that way. Study!

This class is a lab science. You can take it instead of chemistry and it is WAY EASIER. The lectures are a little boring especially because he "briefly" goes over the previous lecture every class. If you take good notes and pay attention, you'll know exactly what's on tests and quizes. Some quizes are really easy and some are tricky.

Had him for 221 and 223. Excellent professor but seems like he doesn't come to class with a plan on what he will be teaching that day. He kind of goes with the flow. Easy to get along with and he values his students, especially if you are a physics or chemistry major. He is really funny and an asset to SU! Best professor in the physics department!

I had Pica for Physics 1 and 2, and he is an amazing teacher. The material is hard, and so are the tests, but he gives a lot of partial credit. He explains everything clearly and truely wants to help his students. Make sure you study well and do the homework.

Took this for Gen Ed req. He doesn't control his class very well. Allows students to rudely talk and disrupt others. Will test you on stuff he tells you specifically wont be on the test. If you pay attention and go to class you'll do fine. Tests are hard and tricky though.

Astronomy is a boring class, but he's a fun teacher. You don't have to go to class, but the tests are based off what is covered in class. Lab is boring too. Not too hard, but you still have to put in some effort. I thought astronomy was going to be interesting PS: its not PPS: Pica's cool though

Excellent teacher. Knows his stuff very well. Will help you if you need it at any time. Doing the hw is crucial. If you are a bad test taker, the hw grade will save you. Best of all you get to use notecards on the tests!

Loved the class. He was very easy. The tests weren't hard at all. they were just like the homework. Labs were a bit unorganized but we still learned stuff. He is really funny and easy to listen to. If you get the chance, take him.

he is a really nice guy, make sure you ask when you have questions. he will lead you to the water but he refuses to feed it to you, its really a good way to learn but if you dont know the answer you kinda get lost. super laid back gives plenty of time for material to sink in. hard but cool

He's such a funny guy, and SO laidback... only problem are his tests.. they're kinda hard, but he does give partial credit, and he grades homework and stuff, which he goes over before its turned in...all in all, pretty good prof. def recommended!

Tests are hard but he gives a lot of partial credit. Spends a lot of class time doing homework problems so DO THE PROBLEMS BEFORE YOU COME TO CLASS!!! You'll get a lot more out of lecture. Very helpful outside of class. A good prof.

I thought his class was interesting sometimes. He never really comes prepared with any demonstrations. The tests are hard to understand because he reformats the questions every year and they just keep getting weirder. All in all, ok.
