Had her for Sales Transactions. These "code" courses are essential for bar passage. She seems difficult but after a few classes you'll see that she is very much human. Extremely qualified. In addition to the UCC she gives good supplemental materials. Exam is fair.

Comment:

A course in Sales is a law school necessity. It is all over the bar exam. Lousin's knowledge of the UCC is unmatched. You need to put in a lot of work but you will learn a ton about Article 2 and the UCC. Also her statutory construction method is extremely useful in practice. Do not leave JMLS without taking Sales with Lousin.

When a teacher is devoted to teaching it shows. Prof. Lousin is such a teacher. Maybe it takes time for some to appreciate that. She taught and inspired me in a subject I was not particularly interested in nearly 30 years ago. Ann Lousin is at her core a teacher. If you are lucky enough to have her class, be smart enough to appreciate her.

She wrote ALL the material and her lectures were both interesting and productive. Lousin is what we should hope for in ALL JMLS faculty. Btw, the comments here really highlight the differences between day and night students. I have a suggestion for day students: Law school is a job, not playtime. Doing well in this class validates you-so do it!

Lousin is the Queen. She knows Sales, probably better than another in the country. She ahs been around the block and truly knows the subject. She makes every effort to help students and even to entertain. Those who have given her poor rating I'm sure just did poorly in her class.

It is impossible to overstate how bad she is. The woman is contemptibly ignorant of history, economics, and culture, and unable to grasp or discuss even the simplest philosophical or legal point without relapsing into knee-jerk reactions that don't stand up to the slightest criticism or examination.

Lousin is the EMPRESS of Sales! I don't get the whiners with their snide comments. If you prepare for class and pay attention you will learn an enormous amount. Make copies of the old tests on reserve in the library! Her finals are very consistent; if you spend the time working through the old ones you'll sail through your final. I give her an A+!

I was interested in Art. 2 until I met her. Horrible instructor and class. My best advice (outside of stay away) is to learn only what she tells you - not the UCC. She tests on her "theories" not on the law. Take notes and her XC and essays never change so the class is a joke. Consider yourself warned... Take Waingren.

Stay away from Lousin! She was the worst professor I had during my whole tenure at JMLS and that is saying something. To put it simply, this woman cannot teach. You would have better luck with an outline book than with this one. Also, she has a habit of leaving her microphone on while in the bathroom. NASTY!

Professor Lousin does a fantastic job teaching the course. She is very accessible, responds to emails, and does an excellent job of teaching the materials in class. Lastly, her lectures are always entertaining, and infused with lots of dry but good natured humor.

She's terrible. I learned more about the UCC from Emanuels than I learned from her in class. In fact, I got through law school using Emanual. Most of the students giving her good reviews are the ones who read and briefed every case in their law school classes all the way into their third year. These are the ones that obviously cannot think outside the box and are afraid to take risks. These same people are probably at the top of their class and most likely won't be able to function as real lawyers.

She is a tough teacher, but she really makes you learn sales. If you want to learn sales and pass the bar, take it from Lousin. There are other teachers who teach Sales, but no one knows the material as well as Lousin.
