One of the best parts is he is very open to hearing the student's opinions, lectures are a little bit boring, but helpful. Top flight. Well-educated, easy-going, and a helluva nice guy. His weekly assignment is for you to come in with discussion questions on the readings. Then you talk them over as a class. A tough grader on papers. Expects very scholarly work, but he'll help you get there. Totally unpretentious. He'll talk movies with you after class.
