Not a charismatic lecturer but his steady and clear presentation of the material was a great intro to a subject that I expected to be dryyyy (Theory of Computation). Five years later, I sometimes crack his (self-written) textbook when I'm too close to a programming problem and need a wider perspective.

The very definition of a Seinfeld "Low Talker." I couldn't hear a word he said the entire semester, even sitting in the first row. He may very well know what he's talking about - it just wasn't audible.

Most people do not understand much of what goes on in his class. Monotone and just straight lectures make this class very long and often times unable to be understood. Class average is very low, most people confused on what he discuses.

Excellent professor for a serious student. He knows is stuff well and presents it very clearly. Professor Fleck's own book that he use for this class is simply excellent at explaining the topic considering it's complexity.

Very soft-spoken, clear but slow lectures, helpful outside of class, homeworks and tests vary in hardness, but he is very fair. Slonneger's PLC is a lot easier I hear...
