wow this lady was so easy. you have to attend class every day in order to receive the notes. you have a hand out that you buy at the beginning of class and just fill in the blanks. it is boring, but it's pretty much a guaranteed A, take her when you have other hard classes

Attendance is not mandatory but it would be foolish to not go to class to fill in the lecture notes. Understanding the concepts taught in class will make the HW, labs, and quizzes easy. BTW, she drops the lowest HW, lab, and quiz grade as well. Purchasing the textbook is really unnecessary. I probably opened it once the entire quarter.

STAT 100B IS NOT EASY!! Homework is about 3x harder than the tests (she'll help you with it at office hours) and a pain! She is fair, helpful, nice, and wants you to succeed! If class does poorly on exams, she considers giving e.c. quizzes. Must go to class to fill in notes. Labs are easy. Anyone notice how she looks like Alice on the Brady Bunch?

Probably one of the easiest classes to take at UCR because of her. Most of what she teaches is pretty straightforward as the material she covers are on the midterms. On top of that, you are allowed a cheatsheet for each midterm w/ equations, definitions, and such.

Very easy class. Awesome professor, if you go to class and pay attention you will pretty much understand everything she says. Doing the homework will prepare you for the midterm. The overhead notes are very helpful and have practice midterms. Downside is that class consists of lecture, discussion AND lab. Be sure to go to lab.

3 midterms, NO FINAL, 4 quizzes, labs with pre-labs. Lowest grade in HW, quiz, and lab are dropped. Allowed cheat sheets for every midterm. Boring class but do-able. Stats is an odd ball type of "math" anyway. No curve. It wasn't my favorite but it is do-able. Get a TA who speaks english. Find some1 who has taken class tests & quiz r most the same.

paying attention in class and filling in the blanks in the notes is what makes you understand the material. if you need help, ask her she's nice. midterms are similar to homework problems, as well as the notes. really good at what she does! =)

I barely went to lectures. And when I went, I didn't even take notes; I just came to hang out. The class is not hard at all. It is actually boring because it is statistics. It is the only class I procrastinated even during exams. As long as you know concepts and know how formulae work, you should be fine. It's easy to get A though no curve.

Very nice and easy teacher. She has notes made for you so just buy it from the bookstore and fill in the blank. Go to lecture, listen and take notes = easy A. Homework is not hard and Lab is very easy.

Prof. Beaver is one of the best prof. on campus. She is very clear and makes it very easy to take notes in her class. Labs were very helpful, discussion as well. She was extremely helpful during office hours. It felt like you were learning stats from your grandma.

Wow, I was so close to getting an A and I seriously slacked off near the beginning of the course. Just goes to show that every part of her grade breakdown is important and if you have a B near the end of the quarter, you can still get an A if you do well on the final. Still, great professor. And discussion TAs are awesome, take advantage of them!

Prof. Beaver is such a great teacher. Lectures can be pretty tedious and boring, but if you go to class and just copy and take the notes, you can definitely pull an A. She allows you to bring in cheat sheets to all the exams so that takes a lot of pressure off in memorizing the formulas. I also had a great TA for discussion, and labs were easy.

Pretty easy class. Missed few lectures because I couldn't wake up in the morning. Discussion saved my day, Thx Deybashi! Beaver's notes are clear and very concise. Exams are all in multiple choices and you can bring cheat sheet which is AWESOME.

Stats is pretty boring, but she makes the course a bit more fun. Very clear on material presented. For tests you're allowed a cheat sheet. All the topics you're tested on are pretty much straight from the lecture material. For a class that's not the most fun, she does do a good job of making it as interesting as possible.
