The prof was nice enough to grant me a 2 day extension because I had some trouble getting the assignment. But when the marks came back for the assignment, OMG! Very hard marker, grades the assignment like its a 4th year course. do not take

Do not take this course with him. He is a very strict marker and the feedback is harsh and disrespectful. There is lecture notes HIDDEN at the bottom of the course content, and all audio component is irrelevant. A lot of negativity from the professor.

AVOID THIS PROF! VERY hard marker. I took this class DE and it was a very bad experience. If you got told ENGL109 DE was easy take it with the girl prof - SHE is the easy one. Prof was also very rude and pretentious when responding to e-mails. I'm surprised there are positive reviews on him...

I had no problem with him. It was a DE class so it wasn't him on lecture tapes. He was helpful answering questions about the paper and granted extensions when necessary. My papers were all marked fairly. I signed up for another class with him

Interesting topic, teacher motivated students to think critically and see different perspectives. A competent professor with a profound passion and interest into literature. Did not hold all of the classes but is easygoing, funny and is on the same page with his students.

He is an extremely defensive prof; I had him for DE ENGL 109. The text and tapes were great to learn academic writing, but all my learning was no thanks to the professor who was more of a detriment with his discouraging mocking of questions and hardcore marking for a beginner class. There is another teacher for this same class; wait for her class.

(I also had him for ENGL 213.) One of the best profs ever. Sometimes he rambles but his classes are very interactive and never boring. He's approachable and youthful. I highly, highly recommend taking one of his classes.

Bennett turned a class we were all looking forward to into a joke. He misses half the classes, he talks during exams, and even his notes are pretentious! And he doesn't even have prof. status! I read ratemyprofs after signing up for the course last semester and just ignored the bad comments, which was a bad idea. YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE HIS CLASS!

Unmotivated. He has cancelled 7 of the first 12 lectures to date, and has not told the class anything about the major upcoming assignment. Constantly makes excuses for canceling class, but never gives notice. He may have a good heart, but is a horrible teacher that couldn't care less about his students that pay good money for their education.

Prof. Bennett does have a difficult course to teach, but his total lack of interest in his students is somewhat off-putting. It's week 3 of the term and he still doesn't have the course package completed. Extremely vague regarding readings and gets frustrated if he is asked to repeat himself. Keep your head down & READ THE TEXTS for a decent grade

Does not answer emails, doesn't show up for appointments with students. Cancels class with little to no notice. Did not prepare video clips adequately for final exam, and talked to class constantly while we were writing (VERY distracting). Sometimes came to lectures completely unprepared to teach, gave unclear directions. A prof to be avoided.

At first he really wasn't helpful, kind condescending, didn't reply to emails... towards the end of the class it was a 180-flip, became super nice and really helpful, offered to make sure I got the exam notes and go over my tp if I needed it. I love Pink Floyd and Tool so I approve.
