She is VERY VERY rude. Mrs. Puffer is not precise in her directions and how she would like the class to go she expects student to be mind readers. She is very distant and will quickly tell you what your doing wrong but offer not direction as to whats right. She hates current events, politics, and celebrities. She's very old school. Worst class ever

I'm surprised to read the negative comments. She is clear with her expectations & wants to see students excel. She is tough on grammatical and mechanical errors but considering the scope of the course, it makes sense. Follow the rules and you'll do great. She really is a good professor!

I was surprised to read some of the other comments. Professor Puffer made expectations clear, offered feedback and seemed to grade fairly. I would certainly take another class of hers.

as someone else said "Stay in the scope of the course, don't "think outside the box" and you will pass this instructors course. She's clearly jsut trying to get paid. Don't expect much if you are a natural leader and performer."

This is easily one of the worst instructors I've ever had. She demonstrates zero concern for her students, is a non-entity in the classroom, and is generally useless. She's also incredibly rude to her students. I think I would actually gain more knowledge from an additional textbook in the course than from her "teaching."

There is a lack of concern on behalf of the teacher for how many students actually pass her course. She gives out F grades like they are candy. Six people in the current term have complained to the entire class about her grading standards.

Prof. Puffer is demanding, but fair. She is very well organized, delineating her expectations clearly. She is strict in order to prepare you for the "real" world of public relations. There are a lot of reading and writing assignments, but they are not unreasonable. You have to be motivated to learn and challenge yourself. Not for lazy people.

This is THE professor you need to be prepared for a job in public relations. She not only knows her stuff, she is an active leader in the field with contacts galore. Gifted at imparting the nuances of her profession, I can't recommend her highly enough. This Prof. teaches well in an online format and engages with her students frequently.

I love this professor and wish she taught more classes at UMUC. Clear instructions, detailed feedback, incredibly fast turnaround and she obviously knows her stuff. She *is* very picky about grammar, spelling, etc., so you need to turn in high-quality work. Not an "easy" grade, but fair, attainable and meaningful. Awesome!

Prof. Puffer is rude and likes to accuse people of plagarism. Her assignments make no sense and when you ask for help, she posts an example of the assignment AFTER you gives you a bad grade. She also, likes you tell you "your maximum potential for this class is xx" Makes you not even want to try.

INSANE GRADER! If you have ever made a mistake in your life you WILL NOT got better than a D in this class. The assignments seem straight forward but she judges your writing like Hitler judged the Jews! If at all possible pick another professor I am in school another whole semester because of this wicked witch of PR. AVOID PUFFER LIKE THE PLAGUE!

While taking an online class isn't the easiest I have much experience taking them. Prof. Puffer seems to have a lot of knowledge however a harsh grader, helpful at times, but not as much as other professors. Some of the projects are a bit unclear, and she posts a lot of conferences...hopefully you are a good writer.
