Prof Losco is all around a really great professor! He keeps the readings and lectures interesting and really encourages participation. Midterm, final, one presentation, and attendance are the only grades in the class. You can only miss 3 classes so be sure to show up to class. He is a very fair grader and tells you exactly what to expect. 10/10!

Professor Losco is a very intelligent professor. He made learning about government fun and interesting. I truly looked forward to coming to class and he broadened my horizon on politics. He helped write the textbook for class, so if you show up to class and read the book.. You should pass.

POLS 513-Grad level Modern Western Political Theory was a tough class. Dr. Losco will help you learn alot, but you will work for your grade. His book is required reading and there's lots of other reading for grad level students in this class. He's a tough, but fair grader and participation matters- miss more than 3 classes- don't expect to pass!

Good guy! Good professor! Very professional. Not hard but sufficiently challenging and thought-provoking. Losco really knows his stuff and is a smart guy. Get the textbook-that's all you need. 10 journal entries, a 3 page paper, a midterm and final. Journals are graded on completion and nothing else is that hard as long as you go to class and read.

Comment:
Not bad. Can be a little boring sometimes, but the workload is reasonable and he's fairly laid-back and not too harsh. However, other reviews are correct in that he is not very open to alternate interpretations. Buy the textbook, and he basically just wants the book quoted back to him when you answer questions. He wrote the book so he's fond of it

Losco is a good guy. Knows his stuff. Class isn't really that hard. You can probably maybe get by without reading much, but he likes discussion. 10 journals, midterm, final, and 3 page paper and presentation. All questions are essay, which are really to your advantage. Big picture kind of guy-doesn't worry about minute details. Very professional.

Comment:
Modern Western Thought. Losco is a smart professor and the in-class discussions/groupwork are somewhat engaging. Worst part is lecture, which can get boring at times but he usually lets class out early. Grade is based on a paper (20%), Midterm and Final (35% each), and participation (10%). Easy B

Comment:
Overall, Dr. Losco is a good professor. However, I found him surprisingly close-minded with respect to alternate interpretations of political philosophers. Essentially, he's completely convinced of the validity of his own interpretations, and he discourages students from questioning them - a sort of anti-Socratic method.

Dr. Losco is a talented and spectacular professor. He bring political theory to life. Sometimes I wonder why he is not teaching at either Harvard or Yale or the ivy leagues. He is truly an asset for the department and Ball State.
