Brown is a terrific person and teacher. She is quirky, be patient with her. She truly cares about her students and has a lot to offer. She is also a lot of fun, not afraid to be goofy or make fun of herself. Brown has a lot of passion for the subject she teaches, but a lot of the time I don't know where she's going during our advisor meetings. She's both really smart, and, on occasion, thoroughly confused. Although this makes class interesting, it seems to also slow it down significantly.

Brown is way past her sell-by date. As an advisor, she misinformed me about crucial information regarding class enrollment. She is also abrasive and disorganized, and has lost several of my papers. She posts assignments last minute on the website and doesn't explain them, and doesn't seem to care about her students. She is a TERRIBLE advisor!

I took the team taught "Southern history and literature" class and i found Brown to be one of the most informed, curious and excited teachers ever. she is really interested in what she teaches and genuinely wants to help everyone grasp the concepts. brilliant mind, the sort of teacher from the movies. she was very inspirational. i loved her!

Made me cry on several occasions. Made me feel inadequate and stressed. Yet she also pushed me to work hard and do better that I thought I could, if only to prove her wrong when she doubted me.

Ok, I graduated long ago...but I probably wouldn't have without Brown's gentle but firm guidance as my advisor. She was great and a model for how I have developed subsequently as a person and as a teacher. (I'm also now a Univ. Prof.). And I must say...I always thought she was "hot" too.

I'm really not impressed with Brown. Her quirkiness exceeds her usefullness, her comments had nothing at all positive in them, and the other two professors in the class, whenever she began to speak, essentially told us she was wrong. never have her as her advisor, she's kind of a failure.
