Took this in the summer. Although she's a nice person, she has way too much going on and couldn't keep up with the grading to the point that we almost received no feedback the entire semester!! Journal entry each week. Exam. Paper. TOO MUCH STUFF. Positive note: this women knows her stuff. She's very knowledgeable.

Candis assigns many readings and weekly assignments, but students are left unknowing ANY of their grades until long after the final exam. Her teaching style is disorganized, nonlinear and expectations for assignments are very unclear. She can be rude, often imposes her ideas on others, constantly puts students on the spot and criticizes their work.

She creates an environment where students are afraid to share their opinions if they differ from hers. She provided 0 grades or feedback the entire summer semester. She is so unorganized and unclear. She is rude and interrupts people when they're speaking. Treats adults like high schoolers. But she is understanding when there are personal issues.

Candis was very passionate about the subject. This makes it really easy to sit through her lectures. I didn't get bored in her class! Be careful; she won't hold back if she doesn't like what you've said. She is a fair marker and she's easy to talk to.

I really enjoy her lectures! She's very approachable and makes you want to learn. Not an easy grade. Attendance is a must and her tests are not multiple choice. You want an easy A? Go Elsewhere. You want a class that will get you to think critically and learn some really valuable stuff? Take this class!

Really interesting discussions and enthusiastic about her topic. However, the readings/assignments were simply not realistic for a summer class. As well, feedback was extremely delayed-probably because there were too many assignments to correct in a timely fashion! Also, not enough practical implications for classroom use.

Candis makes an 8:30 class almost bearable. She's passionate and enthusiastic, motivational and really helpful. She makes everyone feel comfortable and is flexible. Work was easy and fun, as were all the group discussions. Take her if you have the option!!

I've taken several Candis classes, and as I'm preparing to graduate I can say with certainty that she's the best teacher at the Institute. She's accessible, brilliant, & she really talks to you. Discussion is engaging and she can manage her class (and inappropriate comments)and most importantly she wants to see you succeed. She is a facilitator. A+

Candis is great, she has great readings and is always up for discussions. What makes her classes tricky is the subject matter(Masculinities / Deviant Bodies) which is hard to manouever. But having said that, her classes and their topics are what make her amazing. Her courses are by far the most interesting since they're current. She's current.

i don't know about her, sometimes she's really interesting and inspiring and other times she looses me entirely. She has a tendnecy to talk to you like you are an insane person; lots of nodding and smiling complacently. She's not all she's cracked up to be in my opinion.
