The only grade received is for fill in the blank tests, and no extra credit is allowed. There is no textbook for this class, so I taught myself at home on the internet with my notes. Talks about students grades aloud. The tests had info we didn't cover in class. I attended every class and studied appr. 15-20 hours per week and I may still fail.

His entire class is lecture. No textbook, no hands on. Throughout class, you write down specifically everything heh puts on the board and if you miss something, you're just out of luck! Also, he moves really fast so if you write slow, you're also out of luck.

Bio 101&102 w/Dr.Carmichael. His notes and your diligence are all you need to succeed, but you will need to attend class for notes(although attendance is not mandantory)b/c he does not use the book at all. He makes it interesting, is very organized, and is very helpful. His tests are somewhat challenging, but he is also very fair. Excellent Prof.!

Manages to make a complicated subject that I previously loathed both interesting and easy to understand. No book and a pretty much non-existent attendance policy (though you should probably go anyway because you will NEED your notes for the exams), and the Bio Projects were fun and topical. Highly recommended.

Don't buy the book. If you write down everything he writes down on the board, and know that, then you'll do great on the tests. I didn't think he was very hard, just a lot of memorization. He often lets out early, and gives quizes most of the class times. It's definately helpful to go to class.
