She's a good teacher, very nice. If you need help she'll give it to you. You get points off if you miss class...thats the only downside. The tests are very fair..so ask questions and understand the material and you will do fine. It's not hard...and I barely went and I'm getting a B. Good teacher thought.

The best math teacher I have ever had! In high school I was a C-/D student and didn't understand algebra at all. I'm in Van Hook's class this semester and I have an A! The way she explains the math makes so much sense, it's really amazing! I finally understand what I'm doing thanks to her. Doing the homework is easy points!

unfair grader. alotts very little time for taking tests. she had an attitude and acted very rude and snobby one on one. plays favorites. she makes the tests much longer than the time she allows...as if shes setting you up to fail.

Great teacher! She cares a lot about her students and is extremely helpful. She goes over the homework every day so if there is something you don't understand make sure to ask her and she WILL explain it. As long as you pay attention in class and do the homework the tests are easy. I am horrible at math, but I got an A in her class!

I wouldn't recommend Van Hook unless you already know algebra. She says the class is about teaching yourself how to learn. The last time I checked my fees were paying her to teach. She's nice, but fake and makes people feel stupid when they ask questions. We had a few days of her nice side. Not Enough!!!!

she is a very nice lady and explains everything. we have a quiz once a week but its easy if u do the homework. she doesnt collect the homework. we have 4 tests. Pay attention in class and do some of the homework and you will be fine. I would recommend to everyone

I was coming off a "A" performance in Math 3A, then struggled with Van Hook in Math 3B. Dont let her charm and fake smile fool you. She was really tough and would lie about what was going to be on the tests. She would tell you something wont be on the test, and when u take the test it shows up!!
