Comment:
Professor Dailey may seem intimidating at first but he is a very chill professor. He's a stickler for proper grammar and wording in papers, so watch out for that--but know that it's good practice for upper division coursework. He'll poke fun at his students here and there, but it's all in good fun and he is an exceptional professor.

This professor is by far the best professor at Sierra. Don't take if you are overly sensitive and have no sense of humor because you won't be able to handle the class. He tells you where all the answers are for the quizzes and his tests can be easily studied for if you pay attention to the small things he talks about and if you use class materials.

Absolutely loved this class. Professor Dailey is by far my favorite teacher out of all the classes I've taken at Sierra. He keeps the class interesting. Pay attention to the small details in his lectures and studying off of quizzes from previous semesters will help a lot. He offers a ton of extra credit opportunities which is nice too.

Get a hold of past quizzes or you'll be fighting for a good grade the entire semester. Luckily he uses the same ones every term! Also, look in the drawers in the lab room for the quizzes! take a lot of pictures of lab specimens because NOTHING in the lab is off limits for an exam! He's a cool guy, too. Show him some respect and don't be late!

This teacher is really awesome, though there is a lot of wasted class time. His humor can be dry but tries to make a lot of jokes. Quizzes aren't bad and can often times be found laying around the class. Take pics of the specimens he shows so you can study them for the lab exams. Lab exams aren't too bad and he grades on a curve.

He isn't all that hard. Especially since the first test is exactly like the practice test (but rearranged), the quizzes are exactly like the study guide. A few quizzes were take home. I took the class over the summer and got an A. Make sure you have old tests to study over and that you ask about EVERY object (animal, currency, etc) passed around.

He knows everything and is a nice guy BUT he's a really horrible teacher. He makes animals really boring. The exams are all based on the labs and random details he throws out in class-not the text, not broad concepts. A lot of class time is wasted watching Jay Leno and going over spelling errors and handwriting mistakes.

I was so worried about this class, because all semester I was getting sub-par grades on my tests. But I turned in all my assignments and ended up with an A somehow. Professor Dailey is a great professor not just because he gave me an A but because he is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Best Zoology class ever.

I took him the term before I transferred to CSUMB as a bio major and I found that a lot of his info was helpful in my bio classes following. If you stay back and actually ask him questions he's really helpful and the lab reviews are basically the lab practical mixed up. I enjoyed his love for sharing his knowledge of zoology and the campus.

Worst Class EVER! Extremely disorganized - You end up teaching yourself. His questions are poorly written. He wastes time, enjoys tricking you, and makes ENTIRELY inappropriate comments during lecture. The positive is he really knows his stuff. Too bad, he can't manage to teach in a professional, positive helpful manner.

I am a science major that has taken alot of science classes and I normally enjoy learning but while taking his classes I would have to say it and he were the worst science class I have taken:( I would ask questions,he would not answer them. Don't take him, I didn't learn, he was confusing, stuff that was on the exams wasn't taught. The avg. was 60%.

Impossibly hard! Luckily, everyone in my class did terribly on exams, so he curved the grades somewhat. Be prepared to memorize minutia rather than learn the broad concepts that would make those minutia understandable.

Let me preface this by saying Dailey is a nice guy who knows his stuff. That being said, this guy needs to retire. I felt that a lot of class time was spent on useless information and covering stuff that a non-science person such as myself hardly understands. He annoyed me to no end, but on the plus side he takes late work. I don't recommend him.

I love zoology and still do after taking this class, but I didn't get much out of it. Dailey is a very intelligent guy but he is so unorganized and gets off track all of the time. I stayed the entire class time twice the entire semester because he wasted so much time playing useless videos. I wouldn't really recommend his class that much

Themally expanded endosperm! :) hard tests and quizzes. but are the same every year so get a hold of old ones. he talks a lot, he's funny, accepts really late work, and asks you on the final what you think you deserve in the class, so yeah.....easy class

This class is definitely tough! To my knowledge I got the only A in my class. There are 3 lab exams which are curved so the best grade is what it's out of. Prof. Dailey is a perfectionists and everything must be right when he is grading. At first the quizes are in class and very tough but later in the class they become take home and help your grade

He talks. And talks. And TALKS. And just when you thought he was finished, he talks some more. You hear the same jokes and stories everyday. He's very nice, but a bit senile. Most of the class has nothing to do with biology so you're on your own to learn it for the tests.

I love biology so much it hurts. Despite my love for the subject, I could actually feel my brain cells dying in his class. He has a hard time filling up lab and lecture times. He wastes SOO much time on trivial things, like watching Jay Leno, Nasonex commercials, foreign currency, WWII, watching JAWS, reading children's books, and such.

Professor Dailey is a really cool guy. He knows everything there is to know about animals. There were 3 major tests on his lectures and I failed all 3. I think he grades on a curve because I got an A. He accepts late work and offers a ton of extra credit. Be sure you get a peer review before you turn things in.
