Dr. Kay is great! He is really open to different points of view so long as you can back them up. He totally understands if you have problems and always available when his door is open. Too bad he is retiring. Its Wofford's loss.

An amazing class! he says he is retiring after next year; that will be a loss for future Terriers! Dr. Kay gave me lots of feedback on my case papers which make up most of the grade of the class. Because of this class in my future I will be a better doctor (I hope) and a better writer Take his class before it is too late!

Dr. Kay is a great lecturer, and really facilitates class discussion. However, he grades papers arbitrarily (the first paper we did was one of the best I have ever written, yet everyone in the class got a C+, the third paper I wrote was the worst I have ever written and I got an A). Lots o reading, and he has pop quizzes every once and a while.

Dr. Kay is great professor. He does lecture through the entire class, however, he tries to keep it interesting by creating discussion among classmates. He always informs you of what is going to be on the test and is always available when help is needed. Highly recommend!

Great course! (I'd say awesome but he doesn't want us to use that word.) Religion is sometime a hard thing to discuss in public but everyone was thoughtful and sensative. Dr. Kay is a great teacher and showed that he cared about everyone's views. Take this professor!

Dr. Kay is probably the best professor i had for philosophy. His discussions are very interesting. The class grades definitely ranged but if you go to him before a test it really helps. Would for sure take Dr. Kay again for another philospohy class!

Dr. Kay has been a great professor. Not only is his class interesting, but when I had some medical problems throughout the semester he worked with me to make sure I could still do well in his class even with all of my problems going on. It's really great when a professor cares so much about his students. I would highly recommend the class for how i

Philosophy of Religions was a great class! It inspired me to thinkmore deeply about my own beliefs, but also to be more understading with others. Prof Kay really cares about religion and what it all means. Ifyou do too, take this course!

I took two classes with Kay this semester and both were great! Philosohy of religion was most meaningful for me personally. Kay challenged us to think about what we believe and why, but he was very supporting really cared about what we think. We had some long talks outside of class.

No control of class No measures to quiz on material or stimulate discussions-yet dismisses class bc of their lack of discussion Paper due the Monday of Spring Break. (assigned week before) Paper assigned week before exams, due exam week, PLUS an extensive and cumulative final exam. Would not take again. Lectures to hear himself talk.

Tough material and deep discussions, but it all came together in the end. If you work hard you will get a good grade--Kay is always willing to talk in his office, comments on drafts of papers, and even gave people a second chance if they did poorly on the first exam. I ended up understanding what philosophy was and even liking it!

A lot of reading goes into this class, readings every night. No exams, just papers. Will need to read for papers & can be a hard grader on papers.A discussion based class with little lecture. Encourages participation from every one. Will call you out,but you won't feel uncomfortable.Easy person to talk to &knows what he's talking/teaching about.

I did not have any opinion of philosophy before I took this course but it ended up being my favorite course last year. Kay is great in class. He gives everyone a chance to talk and ask stupid questions and works hard to be sure that everyone understands. His office is right down the hall and he is easy to talk to. Awesome professor!
