Veenstra is a solid professor, he will challenge your beliefs. He always plays the devils advocate, but I find that helpful. He's intimidating at first but if you earn his respect, then you are golden!

His tests are just plain not that challenging. Not a lot of homework involved either compared to other classes. Easy to understand teaching style that lets your opinions be HEARD, but then he'll give his two cents which is usually pretty accurate.

Absolutely wonderful prof. Extremely challenging, tough and somewhat intimadating. But give him a chance and you will love and appreciate him. Doesn't let students get away with crap work.

He is a very good professor. He makes you think about the topics for the speeches you do and doesn't allow you to do cheap, easy topics (such as why you should wear seatbelts in cars). He relates a lot of his classes to politics. Good guy overall.
