Dr. Crane is awesome. Very knowledgeable and therefore cares about the material amnd expects effort. Class is not difficult, but requires writing. His door is always open, and he loves to help or answer questions. Cares about his students. Env hist required reading but not an unmanageable amount. I took the Am West trip, and it was awesome.

I absolutely loved his class. I actually took him my first two semesters at SHSU. He was by far the best history teacher I have ever had. He really is there for the students and very passionate about the material. He definitely is not there for the money. I highly recommend him. He will prepare you for upper level courses for any major.

Awesome professor, it's a real shame that this semester was his last one here. Really animated lecturer, really passionate about the subject. Tests were a little stressful, but there were only two. Ultimately a solid class.

Very fun and interesting class. He loves what he teaches and that is visible and makes the class easier to understand. Plays music, videos and shows photos that are helpful to understanding the subject. The exams are not that hard. But if you like to text or talk during class don't take his class, he will kick you out :) I am actually glad he does

I took him online and he was very unclear about when things were due. The majoirty of the class got screwed over because he didn't post multiple assignments until the last day and told us all to request an extension of the class. Honestly, made me not want to take online ever again. Plus, the course isn't writing enhanced but was all writing..

Great lecturer! Passionate about the subject matter. Very helpful considering the huge amount of students he has. Does his best to work one on one. Tests are challenging but if you read and attend the lectures you'll be fine. Don't expect easy because he actually wants and expects you to learn!

Dr. Crane is truly one of the extraordinary professors at SHSU. You cannot say he is hard, because he gives you everything you need to know before every quiz and test. There are zero surprises in this class. If you do not prepare, you fail. If you work hard, it is an easy A. His lectures are interesting, and he is a genuinely nice person.

Pop quizes frequently over reading, 3 tests total, ALL ESSAY FORMAT! Grades hard. I am making all A's in my other classes, and I'm failing this one. Very passionate about his work, but tends to move too fast. I would not recommend him to any non-history major.

I took him for the summer and he is very clear on his lectures. The assignments are relevantly easy, BUT if you do not like writing papers i would not take him. He posted 5 assignments 3 days before the class was scheduled to end and a test the night before. He basically told all the students to receive an incomplete. DON'T TAKE HIM IN THE SUMMER

I love Prof.Crane he is one of my favorite professors at Sam. He loves what he does and it shows in his lectures. His grading is very straight forward, he gives you the questions for the quiz and gives an option of multiple choice or essay for test. If you follow the readings and attend class he is easy to get an A. DOES OFFER EXTRA CREDIT.

Easy, and interesting class. All tests (occasional) and quizzes (weekly) are essay format. The readings are great and make a student want to learn more. Professor Crane is very clear and always has a deep understanding of the material. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and is willing to answer questions. Great class!!!!

He is an overall good teacher. He references The Simpsons and Family Guy a lot. He lectures from powerpoins but you don't necessarily need to write them all down because you use the book to study for quizzes and test (writing stuff down helps though) He's a good teacher but his tests are hard and he grades them really hard as well.
