The immortal Chris Hoeckely is incomparable to anyone you have ever taken, if the opportunity ever presents itself for you to go abroad with him and his wife you must take it. Chris is a genuine caring professor who will teach you more about life than about academics, but in this case thats a good thing.

Lectures are awful. He drags on and on with no point. There is no structure to the class and reading is not really discussed in the class period. Taking notes for this class is one of the hardest things I have ever done because he talks way to fast, and he emphasizes the wrong information. Again, no structure, he just talks. DO NOT TAKE!

Professor Hoeckley was great. The material that he taught was quite challenging to understand sometimes but he was always helpful during office hours or if you had questions during class. His tests and grading are a little weird but you get the hang of it. Do the online discussions (they help your grade more than you realize!)

Very interesting views and mostly thorough lectures. Always willing to meet for lunch even if it is unrelated to class. Great guy, great professor.

In the high school summer scholars program Dr. Hoeckley was a phenomenal professor. He taught the class in an interesting manner, and was very intrigued to hear our opinions which kept the class fascinating. It was also extremely exciting to listen to his opinions that might not be the majority at Westmont. I would recommend to take his class.

Class felt pointless. I had this class twice a week for two hours and it was awful. He doesn't really answer your questions. There is a real sense of brainwashing within this class.
