Not my first lab science, fairly easy course. Expect to read a lot and write a lot of notes. Participation in group work is essential. GO OVER SLIDES WITH CARE on your own time. Grazes over topics that go into detail on an exam and is very particular when grading written questions. Take down her verbal examples and comparisons: important on exams.

If math or science isn't your thing don't take this class with Claire! I found her to be very hoity-toity. In the first class she stated that she knew a lot of BA students took the class for their degree, but in a later class rudely announced that if you can't understand what she considers simple math then you have no business being there.

A decent prof. Be sure to study diagrams well for 101/102 as most of her examinable material seems to be from them. Sometimes stumbles on her own words and sometimes drags on concepts too long. Occasionally drags on study expectations, students need to fend for themselves imo. Overall understandable and approachable for the Geo survey courses.

She was rude to students, got mad at a student for simply asking why she got a dif. score on a question from someone with the same answer. Written responses that seem to answer the question but lack some small detail are given disproportionately low marks. Marks easier if she likes you. I didn't like her as a professor.

despite a good mark, i did not like her at all, even tho she liked me. she did not post lecture slides and expected you to go to every class and got mad when you didnt. grade 1 much? also, even though she was not personable at ALL, she did not seem very intellectual either. notes were not helpful either. 350 words cant sum up how bad she was.

Very nice as a person, but difficult to follow as a teacher. Notes are not helpful, and sometimes she mixes up her terms, which doesn't help when you're in an intro level course.

Her arrogance keeps her from being a good teacher. Her expectations are therefore elevated, too much so for a first or second year (Good luck if you have a paper!). If your questions seem too obvious, she will make you feel stupid in front of everyone. Marking is ridiculous,and as far as I could tell not based on any real academic standards.

Where do I begin? The material is EASY (high school stuff) but she is a HARD marker - she pays way too much attention to small detail (like if your pencil crayon lines are too thick on a graph)

If you would like to be treated like you are in elemntary school, take a class with this prof. I have never dropped a class before until I took Geog 101 with her. I was 10 mins late one class (i told her i would be in the previous class) and she humiluated me and made me wait outside like I was in grade 5. I recommend any geog prof other than her.

She's a nice enough lady, but her classes are horrible. She's not a good teacher, an unfair and hard marker, and is unable to answer most questions. Avoid her like the plague, no matter how convenient the time-slot is!!

Very clear in instructions. Start all of your assignments early to get extra help. Ask to see examples of the labs/papers yhou are handing in to give you an idea. Very good teacher!

She is by far the worst prof I ever had. I asked her constantly for help and all I got was a "oh I can't help you with that". I mean what the heck?????? If you are the prof is it not your job to help us out when we have some questions or don't understand something. Don't take her class. You literally have to bow down to her to get help. SHE SUCKS.

Her exams are easy if you know what to study and you have to extremely thorough. Her multiple choice were really easy. Not very approachable. It all depends on whether she is in a good mood or not. You only need to study your notes, not the text. useless text (Trehaile).
