I've only had this professor for a few class sessions, but already enjoy his class. He is very helpful, and an expert on the subject matter.

I currently have him in the History of Wichita class - very knowledgeable, acclaimed author (I have many of his books) and the subject matter is right down my alley. I look forward to the remainder of this class. Yes, he is straight lecture-but interesting and throws humor in there as well. Recommended course!

Miner is a good teacher. Straight lecture and is very monotoe, the class is easy. There is a lot of reading that is required but if you go to class you can skip out on the reading, just take good notes, and try no to sleep. He grades really easy. Good teacher but a struggle to stay awake.

All of these comments are from students who took his Kansas History class which means they are likely secondary education majors;therefore, their history knowledge and desire is minimal and not academic. They want to teach high school without understaning the history of our country.Kansas history is not boring:i.e. Bleeding Kansas,Cattle Towns.

BORING! Need I say more? I didn't think the state I spent my whole life in was as boring as everybody thinks, but I guess it is. Miner doesn't help any with his boring recolections of boring events. Don't take this class if you don't have to.

soooo unhelpful. makes you read HIS book. lecture ONLY, NO discussion. Was super rude to 2 students, one whose father had a stroke, the other whose wife went into premature labor. plus, VERY dull. And I love history.

Take this class if you want to know everything about Dr. Miner. He loves talking about himself and his family. His book will only sell because it is required for the class. The national tax records are more entertaining than his writing.

Comment:
Dr. Miner is not easy, but if you pay attention, take good notes and read, you should do ok. If you have any ability to write (his tests are essay), you'll do fine. He's fair and sometimes, kinda lenient. He's nice and obviously very knowledgeable.

He is very kind. Mr. Miner knows his stuff and expects you to know it too. If you don't attend class to get the lecture notes and slack on the reading this class will be very hard for you. However, it is so informative and he does a great job presenting.

very very very hard course unless you like to memorize everything he says and assigns to read. he is a very smart man but does not lecture well. he does not give reviews for tests and expects to guess what he is going to put the test. lots of reading
