TONS of group work. Very little lecture, but when he does lecture it's super dry. The final project requires your group to make an argument for a party's 2020 presidential candidate, which is a hard argument to make three years out. Super chill guy though.

The lectures are dry and boring and have nothing to do with any homework he assigns. Dan never put a SINGLE grade in Blackbord, waited until the last possible day to post grades. Makes you read 4 horrible books and take tests over then and the final in the class is a long research paper. Do not take his class

Comment:

Dr. Reagan is one of the coolest professors I've had. He is very down to earth and it is very evident that he cares about his students. In this class, we had to read three books and write reports on them. Additionally, we had to read smaller essays and write short papers on those. Dr. Reagan is a little scatterbrained but super cool. Take him!

Professor Daniel Reagan is an outstanding professor. He really cares about his students and wants them to be successful. He gives clear directions on how to study for his tests and complete the required paper for his class. Be ready to read 4 books and do a paper, but he grades fairly. I took POLS 545-Grad level National Defense Policy-& got an A.

Dan is a hard teacher. He has very long, but animated lectures. He doesn't have powerpoint notes which you can follow along, but goes off whats going on in his head which can make his lectures very hard to follow. I would not recommend him.

You read 3 really interesting books and take the tests. I got an A in the class, but I worked hard for it. You have to write a 15-20 page final project, but he gives days off all semester to work on it. If you turn in everything and read the books for the test you will do fine.

Doctor Reagan is easily my favorite professor ever. I was absolutely in love with him and the class. Nothing else has ever managed to so truly capture my interest. I even went as far as to look for other classes he taught because i wanted him as my teacher again. He was absolutely perfect. I love him.

Dr. Reagan is the best professor in the Political Science department, regardless of whether you are looking for an easy A or to actually learn something. Rarely gives homework, always lets out early, always gives you a study guide so there are no surprises on tests. Highly recommend.

Dr. Reagan is the best! Not only are his classes pretty self-explanatory for the most part, Reagan is one of the most concerned profs I have had in my career as a student. He continually offers to meet with students outside of class, and always offers extra help. Highly recommended for either POLS majors or students looking to take an elective!!!!!

I absolutely loves this class! It is very easy if you show up, take notes, and read the chapters. The exams are very blunt and too the point. He doesn't give trick questions. If you read it then 9/10 the answer will pop out at you. His TA is very helpful :) I definitely recommend this teacher!

I love Dr. Reagan! He's kind of quirky, uses odd phrases and examples sometimes, but really teaches you what you need to know! Grades are 5 exams and participation (which is attendance and 2 or 3 short writing assignments. Exams are very fair, all MC. Ask important main idea info, not trivial stuff. Go to class and read the book, should get an A!

I am a political science major and Reagan basically made me fall even more in love with my major. He is very helpful and I loved his class. If you are having problems with your tests or grades in his class go talk to him! He is one of the ew professors who really cares if you do well in the class or not.

He is my fave!! His class isnt the easiest but its the most interesting by far! And he is very understanding and cares how you do in his class. Some of the tests are harder than others. thankful tip read the book especially the beginning story and article at the end of the chapters they will be of the exam! This class is the best!

He gives interesting lectures and overall is a good guy, but I would caution against taking him for POLS130, especially if you are a freshman. There is a pretty lengthy research paper assignment that is not typical of entry level and core classes. Attendance is required and factored into your grade (you can miss a week total). The tests aren't bad.
