Comment:

The easiest way to understand Professor Close: His job is a chore, and its somehow your fault. The hardest part of his course isnt the naturally difficult subject matter (Calculus-based Physics); its him. At first I thought it was the material or stupidity on my part, but I took another professor for Part II and it was a breeze in comparison.

Dr Close is hard to get a hold of outside of class, therefore getting help outside of class is about impossible. His syllabus is probably 10 years old and he doesn't follow it. His grades come from very few assignments. If you know physics you could be okay, but if your new to physics it is very easy to get lost in the first few weeks.

Comment:

I don't believe that Dr. Close intended to come across rudely, but he did seem to be rather easily exasperated with our failure to understand fully. There were times when he presented the material clearly, but that was accompanied by other times when logical flow was completely absent. I personally had a hard time following his flow of thought.

Hilarious in that spastic kind of way. Very nice, although a little difficult to speak to outside of class hours. A bit distracted, but definitely interested in his students learning. Will also go out of his way to help improve grades. If you can't pass this class, then you are definitely the one with the problem.

Prof Close is an excellent teacher. Focuses on the math and brushes over concepts. If you are good at math, take his class. Tests are a breeze if you're willing to devote 10-12 hours to studying for each one.

Dr. Close is simply a bad teacher. He insults people when they ask questions and definitely plays favorites. He never gives enough time for the weekly quizzes and makes you feel stupid if you can't complete the quiz in less than 4 or 5 minutes. AWFUL!
