Comment:

He has absolutely no compassion and assumes all of the content is easy. He loves to put his students down (including in front of the rest of the class.) By far the rudest and worst professor I've had. He knows the content and can explain it slightly, but if you need help outside of class you may as well google it.

I have always hated math and have not understood it very well but then i took his class and i actually learned everything easy. Hes very knowledgeable about math and lets you use notecards on the test with a practice test before that has almost the exact same problems. If you actually go to class you will get an A or B

Professor Roach, Is very nice and personable. If you can meet with him during office hours I very Highly recommend you do so. He knows the material inside and out, so it appeared to me that he knows it so well that he is a bit disconnected from the students. Most of the students in the course have received at least one E in their exam. Rushed Exams

Comment:

Trig is a hard(er) class, so showing up is really important even though it is not mandatory. However, you do get bonus points for attending class. He prints off the power points of notes for you to follow along to, which is really helpful. He also is open work out any questions you have on the homework.

He's pretty goofy, but in a good and funny way. You don't need the textbook, just the mymathlab code for online homework. He'll give out homework extensions left and right if you ask. He gives you a review before tests with every kind of test question and goes through each question with the class. You get a note card for tests. The class was easy.

My experience with Dr. Roach has been mostly great.. He is unintentionally funny, very flexible with homework deadlines, and let us use a notecard for tests. Until the last section, I was understanding things with ease.. however, he has had difficulty explaining this last section to us. His tests were very similar to his practice exams.. Go for it!

He is such a nice guy but he can't teach worth a damn. His tests are printed offline and the final exam was taken on a computer. when you ask for help, he tries his best to tell you but he is no good at explaining. He is extremely nice though

Dr. Roach taught the class with ease, I enjoyed learning the how and then the why, and when there was more than 1 way to accomplish the task he taught us the "easy" one first then the hard one but allowed students to use whichever they preffered. his grading was MORE than fair and his knowledge on the subject was immense.

He has a goofy homework policy: you must do each and every problem. If you don't, you lose half of your two total points per assignment. He will repeatedly fail to grade your tests and get them back to you within a reasonable amount of time. Often gets his own study guide answers incorrect. Often difficult to follow during lecture.

Take this from a guy who took hard math classes in high school: very knowledable and understanding. Practically states everything step by step, right down to the addition. Math is difficult, but he makes it as easy as he possibly can.

Very Hard Teacher. Is not real clear when he lectures and his tests are only 5 questions which makes it important not to make a mistake. Avoid him if you can if you are not good in math or be prepared to study very hard.

He'll help w/ any questions & every class is very structured.He gives notes, hw every night, one quiz a week, and about 4 exams a semester.The hw is very simple, the quizzes come from odd #'s in the book, and his exam questions are very similar to the hw.Pay attention in class and show up, it's almost a guaranteed A. That's what I made in his class

One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. On the downside, he is one of the worst teachers. This guy is all over the place. His exam questions were extremely difficult, but he curves the grades all to hell to make up for it. I learned alot in this class because I read the book to make up for his lack of teaching. If you take his class, study!!!

This class wasn't hard at all as long as you know how to teach yourself. Dr. Roach is a very nice guy, but he cannot teach. He is extremely hard to understand, and he doesn't ever really know what he's talking about. He's very unorganized and confusing.

I cannot stand sitting in his class due to his incredibly annoying voice. That wouldn't bother me if he didn't also teach the one subject that I already find hard to bear.
