He is a very good teach. He is helpful and patient. His attitude toward teaching is very good, even though his test is hard, but if you study hard, you can do excellent.

There are no bad students, only bad teachers. He needs to present the material in a better way. Not be so critical, but more fun."Scaring" the student is not the way to educate the beautiful language of math. We want to learn Dr. Smith, so teach us, don't benefit from our lack of knowledge.

Perhaps the worst teacher I have ever had. Never take him. He enjoys failing students and making his students feel stupid. The material on his tests are of topics never discussed in class. I was a straight A student in high school and made Dean's List and I currently have a B-. Do not take his class if you are trying to make Dean's List!!

he is a hard grader, like if you don't have this=this, which = this you'll lose points, right now everyone in the class is doing poorly. guy reminds me of G.W.Bush. you can joke around with him a little. but if you don't pick up math easy easy or know it. then if you want a good grade take another professor.

Come test time, you'll only have to know the 1% of calculus that doesn't follow the rules. A good portion of students don't finish tests in the given time, and unanswered questions are marked wrong. Smith is quite uptight, and while he's an easygoing and fun person, he's a very poor teacher, in my opinion.

outstanding teacher, but you have to work really hard. do hw prbls every day for an hour and if you have no major gaps from calc I you should get a B. Makes you memorize integral tables (ugh!) and puts unfair surprises on tests - gives you practice tests from past years, but when the actual one comes, you find a Calc I problem about an airplane and you can't get an A.

He is a great teacher but a VERY hard grader and strict when it comes to the tiny details in explaining what you did and why you did it. If you don't cover every aspect of what your supposed to, you WILL lose points everywhere. It's really hard to do well in this class.

Dr. Smith is the greatest professor here at Central Connecticut State University. Trust me, if you want to learn math you would be stupid not to take his class especially if your majoring it. YES he is hard and he grades hard but it is worth taking classes with him because in his class you will actually learn.

Dr. Smith's classes are no walk in the park, you will work very hard in his classes to do well-- but taking a class with him is a very smart idea-- YOU ACTUALLY WILL LEARN IN HIS CLASS! I took his class almost a year ago and still remember what I learned, usually I forget most of it lol... take him, it won't be easy but its worth it!
