Professor Nieto is an enthusiastic, passionate individual who teaches for the love of the craft of acting. Many are intimidated by her because she has high expectations for her students and doesn't allow them to simply go through the motions. If you're serious about acting, take the class. If you just want college credit, find something else.

She's the best, just listen to her instructions and go to her if you need help. She is more that happy to help. Just do your work. If you come to class unprepared, then dont show up. you just waste the time of those who did prepare and want feedback. This class is not an easy A, but it is very fun. I grew so much as a person in this class, Love it!

Such a great teacher. She is there all the way and is willing to put in as much as you are. Met me several times early AM to rehearse. People that believe D Is a bad teacher must not be all too serious about their craft. I grew a ton as a person and actor from her. Wish she had more classes, God bless this woman!

Honestly, this class was not an easy A but i have never met someone more passionate than Dee Marie. Her drive and zeal is outstanding and sometimes that scares people and thats why her rating on here isn't as high as it should be. If you need help and ask, she will meet you outside of class multiple times (happily)

I despised this class. She literally wants everything done to a T scenewise, which is very hard considering she changed what she wanted us to do every single day. Plus there was our sets and costumes for our final; she would downgrade us for not having the proper costume or sets, which she expected us to buy with our own money that we don't have.

Because I took this class seriously-I put in the hours/work,this was the most profound, introspective,deep class I've ever taken!She made me think differently about what it means to experience life, be affected,take off the mask and be real.She enlightened us about the true art/craft of acting.She may repeat herself-explain a concept over and over.

Dee Marie is a great theater professor. She is helpful & her class is not that easy. You have to work you tail off. I've learned a lot things from her. One of the things I've learned was to get know myself better. Also, she is very strict, but other than that she is nice. I really recommend Dee Marie you will get to know yourself better.Good Luck

An extremely bitter woman who refers to herself in third person and knows nothing about acting or the stage. she only talks about herself and she shouts at students and humiliates them. made a girl in my class cry. her tests have nothing to do with the stupid games we play in class (pillow fights & follow the leader.) a huge waste of my semester.

When I went to Cal State Long Beach's Theatre program, I remembered what I learned from Dee Marie and it was very helpful.

I took acting classes from K-12th grade plus acting classes and workshops. After taking this class, it made me look at acting in a whole new way.I learned soo much stuff that I would of never ever learned if I didn't take this class.I have soo much respect for acting.Dee Marie is awesome,and she is very serious about her passion for acting.
