Welp. This guy wouldn't raise my grade literally less than half a percent at the end of the semester to get an A. His lectures are extremely hard to follow. My best friend changed her major because of this class. I DO NOT recommend taking this teacher if you can. It is possible to get a good grade if you work hard and go to TA sessions.

Donald is a terrible teacher. He quite frequently messes up problems when working on the board. If you put in the work outside of class you'll get a good grade, but you might as well skip class everyday.

He is the most boring teacher ever. I never have any idea what he is talking about because he is very disorganized and does not know how to teach. The homework and quizzes are impossible because you have to teach yourself because he does not teach at all. The TA is the only reason I am passing this class.

He messes up a lot... so don't expect his examples to be entirely accurate. Confuses students, probably unintentionally, to the point where you can't tell what is right or wrong. Has experience, but doesn't transition well.

Very disorganized teacher, he's not god at staying on a topic long enough to explain it. He also constantly messes up his examples problems, so its really difficult to actually follow along and know how to do the concepts. He did curve the class a lot, which is the only reason I was able to pass

Had him for the honors section of Gen Chem1. Poor lecture skills. Work is very hard to follow on the board and constantly makes typos which translate to big mistakes in chemistry. I rated him a 3 instead of 2 because he does curve the class a lot at the end of the semester, reopens the online quizzes, and is very nice/ helpful at office hours.

He doesnt know what he is teaching. We spend half the class correcting him on work he has done wrong and all the words he doesnt know how to spell. If you dont read the book you fail but going to class is not beneficial. Do not take his class. He does not teach well at all. We are teaching him most of the time.

He seems to be very intelligent, but his lectures are disorganized, he has to be corrected 20 times a lecture, and as a result, my notes are a messy smorgasbord of nonsense that even I can't decode.

Currently enrolled in Schreiber's class and yes, he could be better at teaching but if you are able to read the book effectively, this class is straight forward. Attend lecture so the concepts are introduced, then read the textbook (a must) as you take notes on what was covered. Exams are reasonably difficult but certainly possible to get an A.

I am currently enrolled in his Gen Chem 1 class, and actually I am currently in his class writing this review. (speaks for itself) Reading these reviews are honestly hilarious because they represent his class perfectly - unfortunately. I would strongly recommend switching out because he makes so many mistakes and his lectures are unorganized.

This guy nearly broke my spirit. He does not know what he's doing, you will spend half of class sitting in silence while he sorts out what he did wrong in an example. That is only if a student is able to sort through the mess of work he has done to see what he did wrong, otherwise you just get to see an example the wrong way. Save your time!

This was honestly the worst class I have ever taken. You're only real chance for success is if you have prior experience from a class like AP Chemistry. He is a smart man, but he doesn't know how to teach. He doesn't care about teaching or his students. Do not take his class unless you already know everything being taught.

He is such a great person but as a teacher, he was not my favorite. Class averages on exams were very low around 50% each test. If I did not have God, Khan Academy, and youtube I would have been in that class another semester. Get comfortable using your book and additional resources!

Worst professor I've ever had. Clearly knows chemistry but does not know how to teach it. I did all of the homework and read the book constantly and still struggled. Class test averages were always 50%. Avoid this professor if possible.

He knows his stuff but he's very disorganized and doesn't explain things well. There's a fair amount of homework and quizzes online that aren't that bad but his tests are extremely hard. Be prepared to read the textbook and do a lot of extra problems on your own. If you ask him for help one on one he's fairly helpful but still confusing.

Super smart but worst teacher ever. Only chem 2 class for summer 1. No power points, nothing to reference unless you wrote it down. Does the most basic form of a problem in class and then tests the hardest imaginable. gives practice exams that are on the HS level and then tests on a graduate level. Talks up this "curve" all semester No curve given

Comment:
Took CHEM 1120 over the summer. Pretty relaxed setting. Pretty slow paced class. Read the book and there will be no problems. If chemistry comes pretty naturally you should have no problem with this class. He gives practice exams and review sheets before each exam. The 3 class exams are worth 60 percent of your grade. Generous grading scale.
