An overall really great teacher. You will have to write a paper every week (14 weeks), but it's easy to do if you put some critical thought into it. The final paper is 8-10 pages; you'll need to start this at least 2 weeks before it is due if you wish to get an A on it. Probably not a class for new students to college, papers must be A quality.

For this class you do a lot of your own reflecting and you get great discussion time. She really gives great feedback and is willing to help in anyway she can. Coming to class is a must. If you skip a class it is difficult sometimes to understand the philosophical reading because she breaks it down during and class and makes it interesting.

She has long video lectures that are not very exciting: just a PowerPoint and her lecturing. The subjects she covers were very interesting though! She requires a lot of reading and writing. I feel that she provided more than enough information on her expectations and I received good grades on her assignments.

Dr. Olkowski is an excellent professor. I didn't take any of her classes until my final semester thesis, and I wish I had been able to take at least one other. You will do work in her class, but she does not have unrealistic expectations and really, your college career is short and you should take classes from professors who will challenge you.

During my time at UCCS, I took several classes with Dr. O. She even offered to help give me a leg up into the grad school of my choice. Despite this, I found her to be elusive, unpredictable, pretentious, and almost totally indecipherable.

Professor Olkowski is a wonderful instructor. She pushes you to think beyond common thought and made Philosophy an enjoyable subject. Her Philosophy of Politics and the Law course is not easy by any means, but if you go to class, participate in discussion, and do the required work you'll get a great grade.

While her vocabulary can be a bit overwhelming, it doesn't take that much effort to understand what she is trying to say. She is an extremely effetcive teacher, and I have learned a great deal during this course. It's a lot of material to cover, but there weren't any tests. I highly, highly recommend her.

Teaches outsider her area of philosophy, and it shows in what she covers and how she covers it (I've had to cover the same material with different professors, since I didn't understand it in her class). Also, she's helpful one day, unhelpful the next, and it's very hard to predict what you'll get from her.

She is beautiful and SO smart. She is so stylish, with amazing pose. The topics were sometimes hard to understand, but I think she does a great job explaining things and is also open to understanding things differently. really knows phil and is a great teacher. Her tests really make you think, but she grades easy.

She loves what she teaches. She is very entergetic and makes philosophy easy to understand. It's hard to determine what she wants from her essays. Attendance is necessary, but not required. She also has you make way too many copies of text on reserve.

Very smart, also driven. But she should probably stick to writing books - her intolerance for others is palpable.

I found her to be very arrogant and annoying. She lorded over you the fact that she wrote 5 books and edited 6. She thinks she is top ****. She also voiced several controversial beliefs that had nothing to do with the subject matter. I would not recommend taking her.
