Real nice guy, cares a lot about what he teaches. Not every effective as an instructor though. Not clear on instructions, pretty vague when it comes to assignments. Makes the class less interesting than it is, as his grading tendencies are pretty inconsistent. Out of the class he's very helpful, but not effective in instruction.

great teacher. He absolutly loves escaping from the library to teach. I still run ideas by him for other classes. FYS had a boring topic and not one I wanted to take but he made it fun. He has good lectures and stories. I really enjoyed it and would love to take more with him if I could.

Although the class isn't the most interesting thing in the world, some of his lectures are very interesting. He loves teaching and it shows. It's an early class as well, which is tough, but you will have a good time. He greatwith one on one, the writing mentor is helpful as well.

P.Doty is the man! His golf swing improves ten fold each class as he lectures. Very interesting when he isnt lecturing about the incredibly boring assingments. If only he would teach other classes, I would definitely take his class, no matter what it was!
