The teaching style is not everyone's cup of tea. There is a lot of information thrown at you with many complex diagrams. There are two group assignments that make up 50% of your grade that are graded easily. Overall, microbiology is a tough subject that Trun makes doable. There's no reason, if you show to class, that you should do worse than a B.

She breaks it down into different projects (1 quiz, 2 group presentations and 1 final). Pretty much all easy As but her lectures are incredibly confusing and boring because shes not very organized.

The entire class was based off four assignments, 2 group projects, a midterm, and a final. Her method of teaching was drawing confusing diagrams on the board without truly explaining what they meant. Though it was not necessarily a super hard class, and she was a fair grader, it felt unorganized and lacking in direction and objective.

She is a nice lady. That's the only good thing I can say about her. If you can't draw, you're basically screwed... I would look back in my notes and it was a bunch of chicken scratch. She didn't really respond to some of my emails. I would avoid her if possible.

She might be a nice lady but she can not teach. The only notes she gives is diagrams. so If you are not a visual person then avoid her at all costs. Advice: read the books and go over diagrams in the books. or take your own notes. It was a very hard class.

Professor did not make point of lectures clear. Flew through entire chapters of text without explanation of theory. Only way to learn in her course is through self teaching reading through the books. Test answers are ridiculous, she ranges from very general to very specific. Exams were ridiculously unfair, especially her poor diagrams.

Lectures are boring and pointless. She draws pictures of the information, which doesn't help when it comes time to study for the massive exams. Reading & outlining the chapters is the only way to learn. Do the online activities, because a LOT of those questions are on the exams.

Dr. Trun is a tough but mostly fair instructor. Like many biology instructors, your answer is wrong if you don't answer it her way. Sometimes, it looks like she's trying to hold back anger by faking cheerfulness. She can be intimidating. But she is helpful though. She'll answer all your questions.

Dr. Trun is an awesome teacher, especially for a lab based class. I took her for Micro Super Lab and it was one of the best labs I have ever had. I wasn't too sure if I was going to like the class at the beginning, but I ended up loving it. She is extremely clear on concepts and is an extremely fair grader. A lot of work, but it pays off in the end
