Prof Adams is extremely clear during lecture and provides you with everything you need to succeed in his class. He inspired me to want to take up wine making as a hobby. He made this class everything a GE course needs to be. This is one great guy, would love to sit down and have a nice glass of wine with him.

Adams has a very clear, formulaic lesson plan and reader for this course. The reader is extremely helpful with the exact course information, and his lectures are engaging because of his breadth of personal experience and stories. Sometimes class can be really interesting, and other times... not so much. Tests are very detail oriented.

Professor Adams explains the ideas very clearly. He also answers students' questions in a proper way. The reader is needed to prepare for the quizzes and midterms.

Way too hard for a 3 unit class. The exams were very, very specific. I made flash cards for every exam and was still stumped by many questions. Professor Adams is very kind but I would not recommend taking this class if you don't have a photographic memory.

This professor seems nice and lures in students. The first two weeks he talks about fun facts about grapes and wine. Then the first quiz hits you like a freight train and doesnt make any sense. Details Details Details everywhere. You think you can pull through but you cant and each test goes down so much and you cant react. you fail massively.

Overall, professor Adams is a really nice person. His lectures are clear, but the tests are tough! Tests are really detailed and hard to study for. Suggest not to take it as a GE. If you must, PNP would be a great option.

He was an interesting lecturer, his midterms and quizzes were very hard and specific. You need to memorize a LOT. Flashcards recommended. But he made the final very easy and lowered cut-offs a little bit.

AVOID THIS CLASS. Adams is very nice but his tests and reader are CONFUSING. Every quiz and midterm I took I walked in thinking I know everything and memorized everything but I still walked out of the tests like I had failed. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Not an easy GE.

Ignore this guy below. In the last two weeks of the course, he had a medical emergency and couldn't finish teaching the class. However, he knew our sub teacher was going to give us a hard final and so he WROTE OUR FINAL AFTER BEING IN THE HOSPITAL! Really nice guy and he honestly cares about his class. I would take any other course taught by Adams.

Dr. Adams is the best teacher ever. He is charismatic, clear, funny, instructive and he knows his facts pretty well. There is a lot to remember but it's a very interesting class. I enjoyed each one of his lectures! Pamela and Angelina, and Carly should all take that class! Vive le vin!

Professor Adams is AWESOME. He is this cute little man who is definitely passionate about what he teaches. Not the easiest class in the world (although it isn't terribly hard either), but he makes it fun & interesting! I loved his class and would definitely recommend it to all.

Took this class to fill up a space in my schedule. He told the class he wanted everyone to gets A's so I assumed it was simple....! NOT... You need to do a lot more than skim the reader to get far on his quizzes and tests. MEMORIZE EVERYTHING..... SOme people have time for that sort of thing, I do not especially for an extra "easy" class.

This class is awesome. Not only was it an easy class, the class is actually really interesting. I recommend taking the class when Adams teaches. I enjoyed attending Professor Adams' lectures, because they are interesting and funny. Best way to study for this class is to memorize the reader. The reader is a very condensed version of the course.

I took this as a Science GE and did not regret it. Adams is the BEST. Tests are VERY detailed, but class is definitely not required... MEMORIZE THE READER (I made piles of flash cards) and you'll do great. I do recommend going to class, though, he is a very cool guy and really knows his stuff. I was never bored. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This was considered one of my EASIEST class in UC Davis. All you had to do was pay attention in class and memorize the reader coursebook that is offered. Aced the midterms and final, ended up with an "A". The test are all multiple choice and are not tricky as long as you study the reader. MEMORIZE THE READER AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!

Professor Adams knows his stuff. He's definitely passionate with the subject. Overall great, easy going guy with a cool personality. The class was harder than I imagined. There was MORE THAN A LOT of memorzing! Study as early as you can and know every little detail all from the reader. Lectures are direct from the reader. Generous curve though.

Definitely a professor who's passionate and enjoys teaching VEN3. He posts his powerpoints online on a website designated specifically for this class. Tests were very detailed and specific, so be sure to know your stuff. No textbook required, just an inexpensive reader that summarizes everything. Definitely learned a lot from this class.

A great teacher that made the class incredibly interesting and enjoyable. Really enjoyed all of the pictures he had on the slides, plus a day when I didn't have to go to lecture because of a wine tour cancellation was a plus.

Yeah, this class with Douglas for VEN 3 was harder than I thought it'd be. The only text needed is a short reader that's really cheap (about $7.00). But the quizzes, midterm, and final were hard because you need to memorize specific facts on it. So it's either you know it, or you don't (on his tests). The grading was fair enough, but you MUST READ.
