He is a nice guy. That's where it ends for me. Picture a 3 hour monotone ramble, and in the end, you will have no idea what you're suppose to know is relevant. So far in my reborn college career - this is the only class that I absolutely dreded. Tests were all essays and there was no review. Impossible to get an A. Would not recommend him!

He's a nice man, devoted and has a passion for the material. That's where the niceties end. This class was incredibly challenging because of his style. First off, all the tests are essay tests. This class is essentially a glorified history class for HLS 270. It needs to be offered online and have more instructors than Dr. Lamp teaching it!

Dr. Lamp is an excellent teacher. He is very clear in his expectations. He doesn't put up with a lot of BS but he shouldn't have to since he is teaching adults. He doesn't overwork you by any stretch and will answer all of your questions. Loved Dr. Lamp!!

Dr. Lamp is an awesome teacher. He is knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and fair. He does not demand too much or unreasonable things. Do what is expected and don't give a bunch of excuses about why you can't and you'll get a good grade. He has a low tolerance for BS, as he should since he is teaching adults. I highly recommend!!

I recommend this class!! Professor is very knowledgeable and helpful. He wrote how own book which only cost $8 instead of over $100. You need the text book but overall I enjoyed this class. I hated speaking in front of a group and feel more comfortable now. If you are taking this class...SIGN UP FOR LAMP!

Did not like this professor. He was soooo in love with himself. All he did was brag about himself and I'm not sure why.I did not find him interesting at all!! I actually found him to be quite odd. Not a hard class though, just beyond boring!!

I would recommend Dr. Lamp's course to anyone who is new to this whole college experience. Not only is he helful with speech, but he is also helpful with studying skills. He is very caring of his students, and knows a lot about anne arundel so if you ask him his advice on professors, tutors, or anything he will give it to you. Great Teacher/Advisor

When the speach teacher tells you the first day of class that he's losing his hearing (completely gone in one ear) it doesn't inspire confidence. He shouldn't be teaching a class that requires hearing. His grades are not assigned fairly and he is not clear about what assignments are due when. Any misunderstandings are blamed on the students. Avoid!

Professor Lamp is a great teacher! I has a very big fear of public speaking and put it off until my final year... I wish I hadn't after taking his class! There is a lot of work, he expects a lot from you, but he is also there to help you every step of the way. In addition, he is there for you even after you've left his class.

Lamp is a great prof. I had him a few years ago and recommend him to everyone I know. He says to read his book, but then he rereads it in class. Just say that you read it then skim it in class. I got an A. He says that Attendance is mandatory but only checks on random days to keep people coming back to class. He wrote his own textbook. Great prof.

dude knows how to give a speech. he wrote his own textbook and uses it all the time in class. the book is very important. i don't have all the words to say how important this book is to the class. Loves to laugh and get involved with the students when speaking. loves to learn and talk about himself, which actually is pretty interesting.

Definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to giving speeches. He has his favorites and if you arent one of them, dont expect to get an A. His grading reflects how well he likes you. He also brags about himself alot and most classes are spent talking about him and what he's done. A stickler for attendance too, will fail you for it

COM 111 is so easy, as long as you show up and act like you're trying. I took the accelerated summer course. If you miss a day where you give a speech, don't expect to get higher than a C. Make sure the written part of your final speech is outlined the way he gives examples in his book. Do everything his way and you'll get an A.

graet professor very funny...but TERIBLE GRADER, TERRIBLE in assigning points. He told me I was doing great in the class everything i did i received nearly perfect in. ALl my speeches deliveries were on point and great. But the final speech is graded on a written portion and final exam stuff we never went over. thought i earned an "A" got a "D" :(
