Comment:
Professor Shia is very caring, wants her students to learn & goes out of her way to make sure her students are being heard. However, she's a little disorganised and sometimes wastes class time because of it. If you talk to her about anything that you don't like she will listen to you and improve, though. Love her and her class, she's a sweetheart.

She is a kind prof who really wants you to learn and pass, and goes out of her way when she knows you are trying. If you put in the work and show up, you will pass. However, she is very disorganized and it can be extremely stressful at times if you have a full course load, and you'll likely have to reschedule tests because of conflicts.

Good prof, Goes over things a lot. There are activities that we have to do with other classmates which is nice change from reading out of a textbook all of the time

She goes over things a lot to make sure you really know it and is a really caring professor. She has tests online on PAWS which if you study the textbook you should be fine.

Don't miss the lectures. If you miss it's hard to catch up. Expect a lot of class participation. Overall a good prof. Her lectures are enjoyable. I took CHIN 114 with her and got 88

Very unorganized, if you missed a class make sure you ask people what you have missed because she doesn't send out emails to tell you there's homework to do. Other than that, she has no sense of time, and quizzes that she gave us, had so many mistake

Never checked her email after school time, if you have a question on friday after 5 o'clock, she would reply to you on monday. She gave us quizzes online, but no clear instruction are given on the quiz, which ended up getting a bad grades.

Eleanor is a wonderful prof. She is very kind and patient, and genuinely wants her students to succeed. It is a fairly relaxed class, although attendance is mandatory. It is slightly unorganized but I never felt an issue with it.

I absolutely adore Yu Laoshi. She genuinely cares about each and every one of her students and she really wants everyone to succeed. It's true that she's bad with time and that she is occasionally unclear, but she is more than willing to clarify things and help you if you ask. I wish all my profs were more like her!

She has no sense of time, she shows up late and keeps you late. She has no sense of organization when it comes to class material, or exams. She says you can email her and then won't answer the questions you have emailed her about - not helpful at all outside of class. Her final exam was way harder content then ever expected in previous classes.

Yeah, she isn't that punctual but her classes are very relaxed and easygoing. If you put in the effort, she'll put in more to help you learn. Having said that, don't bother signing up if you don't intend to try. She has no patience for those who are lazy and don't keep up. Tip: learn the characters and your mark will be much, much better!

A good class for an independent learner. She's a good professor, but if you fall behind, the only way to catch up is a whole ton of work. She doesn't have any sense of time, as other raters have mentioned. Don't be drawn in by the easiness of first semester--she speeds up as April gets closer, so keep up!

Comment:
Shia had no concept of time; she would come in late, keep us late, totally unpredictable. Other than that, she tries to encourage everyone to participate and learn, but often picks on those who are falling behind. Her test are fair for the most part (a few trick questions). She doesn't help those who fall behind.

Simply the greatest professor I've ever had. I could tell she really cared about the progress of her students, and always worked to help us improve. Always very kind and cheerful - and very intelligent as well.
