love this woman. If you're looking for a language that is interesting and you are very busy with other classes I highly recommend Russian. Her teaching method is so easy, and her class room is stress free. A very kind and polite woman to her students. Best Professor Ive had at TU thus far, and even with this easy class, I've learned so much.

I love Elena. She is a wonderful woman. I was the only girl in her class and on March 8th she even gave me flowers! Her grading is easy, so how much you learn is really up to you. She encourages a lot of conversation, so that's good.

All the good intentions in the world and a very helpful professor. For the casual interest in Russian a nice time. For those seriously interested in learning the language, however, she downplays the role of grammar too much for you to be successful. I've studied 3 languages and learned that conversation is important, but grammar can't neglected.

I can't say enough good things about Elena. Her teaching method is wonderful BECAUSE she doesn't focus on the grammar, which is how Russian is supposed to be taught anyway. I'm conversational and very near fluent after only 1 semester, need I say more?

Very well educated, but unfortunately, her teaching was not my style at the time. I'm used to a lot more grammar, and in Russian, that counts a lot for an English speaker. I would have preferred a more demanding content-based course. Still, I learned some Russian in the class and cannot say that she was unpleasant or not easy to work with.

Awesome, awesome prof. Puts you at ease then teaches you Russian. Accentuates the positive. Doesn't like grades (they are counterproductive to learning) so as long as you make a good attempt and keep up with the journal it's a guaranteed A. I learned 10x more in 2 yrs of Russian than I learned in 5 yrs of French due to her amazing teaching.

She's a really awesome Prof.! She goes above and beyond to make sure you understand and will give you all the help you could possibly need. The class is interesting and you get to learn about Russian culture not just the language. Just be sure to do the work or she will grade you down.

She is great. Her teaching method is as different as night is to day. Class is relaxed and positive--considering you are learning a really FOREIGN language. She makes learning fun and real.

This class is fun and easy. She'll let you learn at your own pace. However, don't think she won't grade you down if you don't try.
