I LOVE Dr. Katsoulis! Taking him for Calculus was a great experience as he taught the information well and was very knowledgeable. He is very caring when it comes to making sure his students pass. His tests also come straight from the homework which is nice, but I still learned all needed material. I would highly recommend taking him for calc.

He is one of the best Math professor ever, he gives examples in class that are similar to the homework problems, his test problems come straight from the homework, and he does gives practice problems, but he does not check to see if you did them, and he gives you a month to complete homework. The test and homework are weighted the same.

Not a hard teacher gets all his test questions from the homework questions. Didn't like the class it was super boring but not hard to do well. you don't have to go to class to pass or even get an A you just need to know how to do the homework and you basically get an A

He used a lot of examples that would be seen on homework (which is weighed the same amount as tests --- he values it a lot and it gives you easy credit since you can guess an answer 5 times). Exams are similar to homework on WebAssign. He also assigns practice problems is you need it but he does not grade it or check to see if you did it.

Doesn't Reopen Homework, check Webassign often, deadlines are all different and are subject to move forward occasionally. Refuses to curve. Exam is similar to past tests much is identical. If you don't show work on Exams expect 0's. All notes come from lecture if you skip you will fail. The 1st Exam is easy, the rest are much harder. :(

Comment:

Sometimes it's hard to understand his accent but he is an easygoing and funny guy. Gives 10points on your FINAL grade if you do the online homework. I got C's on all my tests but ended up with an A in the class, thanks to the extra credit. All grades come from three test so I recommend actually doing the practice hw problems.

Yes his tests are short but they are definitely fair. Made and A on 2 out of 3 and never studied for him. He gives a buttload of extra credit and an A is definitely achievable. He is entertaining as well which helps the fact that its an hour and a half long

His strong accent makes for some funny moments. Overall funny guy and adequate teacher. Does not take attention but you should go to class if you expect to understand the material. Tests are 10 questions and he gives tons of partial credit so always write something down!

Great professor! Gives alot of partial credit on his tests! He does not take attendance but if you go to class, take notes, and look over the notes before the tests you should get an A! He does have an accent but he is willing to repeat/explain if needed. He is also kind of funny!

Dr. Katsoulis is a great math teacher. He understands how hard the subject is and gives you a lot of partial credit on his tests. If you have an "idea" of how to do the problem then you will do fine on his tests. Go to class everyday and write everything down. He even has a few funny moments from time to time.

This professor was HORRIBLE!!! Avoid taking him as much as possible. Does NOT explain anything in class and goes at a very fast rate. The examples he gives in class are the easiest in the book and then he puts the hardest ones on the exams. Grades based on 3 exams and the final is optional- NO make-up exams (even if you have a university excuse!!)

This professor is great! He's really nice and his passion for math is very obvious but he does have a strong accent. He comes prepared everyday and always starts class asking if there are any questions. His tests are fair and come straight from the material he teaches in class. He does not exactly follow the book, which makes it difficult to study

I took him for Calc 2 and he is such a wonderful teacher...THESE THING HAPPEN! hahaha his test are 10 questions long and they come straight from the notes. He makes funny little math jokes and really enjoys doing his job. I recommend him to any student at ECU as your first pick

This class was easy but just because I knew what I was doing. He is kinda hard to understand, so it sucks if you're not already good at math. He was an ok teacher but boring as hell. I went to him for help before the final just to review and he got mad that I didn't know how to do something. If you think you might need help, don't take him.
