Professor Stone may be opinionated, but she knows what she's talking about. You will learn a lot in her class, and it will be enjoyable. She is always more than willing to help her students outside the classroom too.

Comment:
Prof. Stone is knowledgeable, but a difficult person. I enjoyed the subject matter of the class, but she often states her opinion as fact and pushes her liberal agenda each class. She embarrasses students and calls on those who don't want to speak. And one class she said explicitly that her criterion for giving an A is how much we speak in class.

Comment:
Dr. Stone's New Wave Immigrant Literature class was definitely interesting and we read/watched amazing works. Most of the lectures were great; some days we would talk about sentence structure rather than the meaning of the work which was frustrating.. Overall, it was a great class, but you definitely have to work for your grade

One of the worst professors I have ever encountered. She is entirely opinionated and has one idea of what she wants from student work -but if you don't meat that mold, she will give you a poor grade with no explanation. She rarely delves into any exploration of the text and often embarrasses students and is openly rude to them in class.

Professor Stone definitely knows what she's talking about and she's well liked by most students. However, the class is unatructured and she's not super accessible. You'll work in small groups in class a lot and the workload 6 articles. But to get a good grade you have to put time into them with a lot of interviewing.

Took her class last semester. Good times. You have to be a top notch writer and reader to do well. She assigns lots of materials to read, and we have to do reports on them. The papers were graded harshly. Grade did suffer a bit, but overall, shes personable. Take her if you are confident with ur reading and writing skills

Best teacher I've had so far. She's extremely smart, engaging, and entertaining. It seems as though she truly cares about her students and is interested in bringing her real-life experience to the classroom for us to learn from. She's tough, but I respect her a lot.

Stone is by far the most egoistic, opinionated, and overall rude professor that I have ever encountered at Fordham. She doesn't teach anything at all and she favors the editors. She is rude, she will humiliate you in front of the whole class, and her favorite letter in the alphabet is "C" - do not for any reason take a class with this professor!

I dont know why Stone makes it her mission to be a hard grader. It's so discouraging. Maybe it's because she is so critical. She is extremely stubborn, so don't even bother disagreeing with her.

Well, I will say that she was a wonderful woman, and incredibly knowledgeable. I was just bummed out that she got me interested in Journalism, and then told me later I would be better at PR. Wish I knew that before I invested all of that time...

Egomaniac who is more interested in showing you how smart she is than in teaching. Wish she'd focus less on herself and more on actually teaching. She is so confrontation and argumentative you wonder why she didn't become a lawyer instead of a professor.
