I had her many years ago and still remember her class. She's a good teacher. I was intimidated of Shakespeare before, but she helped me like his literature. I still remember our play productions at the end. That was fun. Good class and kind teacher.

Nice, nice, nice, but boring. Really into literature and really smart. Seems elitis at times. Trying taking someone else. If it's not possible, she's okay and will not be too difficult.

An ideal teacher for Shakespeare. Of course, there's a lot of reading of Shakespeare's works, which sometimes take a few passes before you get to the meaning. Do extra credit when available.

She's great! She makes it interesting and explains everything scene by scene. Her quizes are super easy and the class in a breeze as long as you show up.

Easy! Goes through the plays scene by scene, word by word & that gets kind of monotonous. But its worth it because she grades very easily and offers a LOT of analysis and helpful hints to use in your papers. Great class! Even performing the Shakespeare scenes, which I was terrified of, was TONS of fun!

Eh, ok. Take someone else if possible. She's nice, but boring and doesn't really teach. It's just the same thing over and over. But she has a good heart.

One of the best! I know how it is to wonder about taking a class with an instructor you don't know. No worries here. You will learn alot, get some slack, and pass with a good grade if you apply yourself. I usually don't like anyone that quizzes but she does them perfectly. Highly recommended. And not bad for being an older woman!

Professor Young is a great teacher, she keeps her class totally engaged. I would recommand her to anyone thinking about becoming a student at CSULB. A little side note: her Shakespeare performances in class are Tony award winning. : )

I liked her easy going approach to teaching. Puts the class at ease and makes learning fun. You don't realize how much you are picking up until the end; or later when you take an upper level course. She is only teaching spring semesters now I think. Recommended.

It might be easy, but it would help you if you plan on being an english major. Just breaks it down to surface stuff -- more interested in being liked than really challenging students.

It's hard to believe that this class was upper-division. I bought that huge red textbook and never opened it once (sparknotes.com, baby). She's a sweet lady and an overall good instructor but the class was not in the least bit challenging. I didn't come out with a love for Shakespeare nor a revilement... just a familiarity and that's it :P

Knows her stuff and makes it interesting. A bit too revealing about her personal life instead of teaching. Easily intimidated -- she really wants to be liked. Doesn't always read essays through. She'll pass anyone who tries or cries. Her instruction is geared toward her interests and not necessarily what will help grad students with comp. prep.

She's a great teacher, and very smart. The class was very interesting, and she makes it easy to read Shakespeare. Some of the essay exams are take-home, but they aren't much harder than the in-class exams. Just do the reading, and try not to miss class, and you'll be fine!!! By the way, the quizzes are cake.

One of the seems fair but it actually a little hard. She is eccentric but knows her stuff and his very helpful. A overall quality instructor. Reading heavier in Shakespeare than in poetry class.
