Professor Kaiden is amazing & classes mostly revolve around discussion. She is very understanding & really loves teaching- you can tell. There is one easy exam on the powerpoints/videos/lectures, a current event article, a paper & the oral presentation which counts for most of your grade. Seems scary but its easy. She def has OCD, but still amazing

I loved professor Kaiden! I learned so much from her class. Get involved in the discussion. At first it is it nerve racking but it really improved my public speaking. She lets you rewrite paper and there is only one presentation, which is easy. Great lady overall!

Discussions are a big part of the class lectures. She very much enjoys what she is lecturing and it comes across. Shows videos often and has good slide shows that she will send to you.

Extremely sweet professor! She definitely will say hello if she sees you outside of class. She gives extensive feedback which will help you understand what you need to work on, but also what you're doing right. However, verbal instructions can be a little unclear sometimes, so pay close attention to syllabus instructions over in-class instructions

Soft spoken but respected. Really knows her stuff. She's interested in your experiences, and she'll say hello to you around campus. For Student Literacy, you're going to need a car if you live on campus. Most of your grade comes from your fieldwork in Paterson. She was simple, kind, and explained difficult concepts fairly well. Loved her.

Very unclear, scatter brained.. I did tutoring for and was not explained what exactly I should be doing. She smiles at literally everything and is a nice enough lady but treats us like we are in elementary school. The tutoring is very unorganized and basically it feels like the students are not needed there.

I have no idea how she could be so unclear in such a class where we go and tutor middle school students. She gave NO direction for the tutoring and most of the other assignments. The lack of clarity is my biggest criticism. Other than that, her lectures are boring but she is nice so.

Dr. Kaiden is an extremely nice woman and one of the nicest professors you could take at Ramapo. She gives great feedback on your work and is an easy grader. The majority of the class is tutoring in schools once a week for about 6 weeks. It's a rewarding experience. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kaiden for any education majors.

Dr. Kaiden is someone who all education majors should consider taking. It was a pleasure to come to each class, and it was apparent that every other student felt the same. The lengthy presentations at the end of the semester first appeared cumbersome, but they were ultimately effective and enjoyable. Don't second guess this one! She is a must take!

Had her this semester for Education. Her lesson plans are well organized and you can tell she puts a lot of time into the work. She is such a sweet lady and really wants her students to do well. Even when she gives criticism, it is constructive and doesn't lower the grade much. I really learned a lot about education and our world in this class.

I loved her class. Her class got me interested in getting a masters in literacy. The tutoring in Paterson wasn't so bad, it was just time consuming for me to get there but I'm glad I did it!

Dr. Kaiden is AMAZING! She really wants her students to succeed, but more importantly wants her students to help those less fortunate. 25 hour requirement of teaching children how to read at PS28 or Eastside High. Has a strong passion and wants to instill that in the future educators at Ramapo! Loved her! TAKE HER for Student Literacy Corps!

Dr. Kaiden is a wonderful professor. The class is extremely demanding. You have to read 2 books and write (2) 5-7 page papers on them, do a powerpoint, go to class, AND 25 hours of tutoring in Paterson on your own time. very easy grader, interesting to listen to and a very rewarding class. I definitely recommend her.

After graduation I realized that SLC is one of the best classes I took at Ramapo. You'll learn more about education in this one class than you will in any of your other education classes. Great "real world" experience and Dr. Kaiden will go out of her way to help you.
