Super funny...friendly and kind hearted. He is a great teacher...very thorough and explains things well. Really helped me learn so much. His tests are are on the tough side, but for history major's his class is a MUST! He really cares about his students and wants everyone to do a good job. He helps people as much as he can. I really enjoyed him!

great man, good teacher, and understanding of problems. I had an ugly flu day of the final, and brought my puke bowl to class. He sent me home, and called me the next day to ask if I was okay, and when I might want to retake. Can't ask for much more from a prof.

Smith is awesome. He denigrates himself a little in class but I don't see why. He's very good at lecturing; the story of history almost draws you in a little. Takes a biographical approach starting with John W. Booth, Lincoln, Grant, etc. Very good professor! Don't care much for TR though...

lots of fill ins on the tests. but for the essays he likes lenght even if it is a lot of fluff. Just make them long and it seems to help out a lot. Lots of Extra credit chances
