The course is pretty difficult and lecture heavy. He explains everything very well and is always available for extra help outside of class. Tests are somewhat difficult but do-able.

I've had worse professors than him, but I've had a lot of better ones. He's a very tough grader. He says on the first week that not very many students pass the class. The tests are very difficult even if you do study. Pay attention in class because he'll call on you at a random time during his lectures. It's difficult for a 200 level class.

One of the best instructors I have ever had. The guy has a knack for getting the whole class engaged. Testing is done in little blue books so be ready to write. His grading is fair if you're willing to put in the work.

Dr. Schansberg was a wonderful teacher. However, his grading was arbitrary and ruthless. I think I may try him again even though I was furious with him last time. I don't know how to get an A in the class.

Every time I asked a question in his office he acted like I was asking something stupid. I have won several awards on the high school level and even one on a national scale, saving a company $500,000. My team and I had write ups in several business and scientific journals. So, I guess I'm stupid. Warning, he's a confidence killer.

He's up for tenure this year and I hope he doesn't get it. He only gives out one A per class out of all of the other students. There is no reason that he should be so hard on his students. It would be different if he was teaching the masters level. The tests are hard because he only accepts basically one good answer. Very smart.

Lectures are not the most organized, but are engaging. While this is not a "social psychology" or "sociology" course, it does expose the student to basic economic theory and will undoubtedly sway the alert student towards a Libertarian perspective. If you understand the material and can demonstrate some mental awareness, you will do do well.

For a class to be called Economics it has to at least pretend to be social science. Shansberg is no scientist. His classes are pure right wing ideology. If you disagree with his ideology, he will humiliate you and lower your grade. This guy is an imbarrassment!!!

a religious zealot. If you like failed economics for the middle and lower class, he is ok. Very pompous and full of himself. Be prepared to listen to sermons.

This was more like a religious study class for me. He MUST switch to religious studies. Very clever (and arrogant at times) in asserting his denomination.

Makes you love economics!! I blame this professor for making economics so interesting that I majored in it!!! He truly cares for his students and makes himself available to them. I encourage any student that has any interest in economics at all to take him!
