Comment:

I learned a lot from Quigley in News 2 and she gives great tips on reporting and covering stories while throwing in some of her experiences from the past. Also, she does give you many opportunities for internships. My only complaint is that she sometimes gets snippy and moody. Not always approachable in person or email.

Comment:

I learned from her. Her own textbook was my lifeline when I worked in the field post-graduation. However, comments about her being snippy and/or rude are unfortunately true. She'd get into a mood swing strangely if someone said something legitimate that she didn't, um, like? Meanwhile a student was very divisive and she'd say nothing to him.

She's not a bad teacher, just rude. She would always be snippy with any question I asked and made me feel stupid. She will help you find a job as long as it is strictly in the journalism field. I was a marketing and communications minor and she literally asked me why I was a journalism major if I was taking marketing classes ???

Excellent professor. If you want to be in the journalism field, highly recommend her to be one of your professors. She gives excellent feedback, emails students job openings and internships, always willing to help improve her students' writing, and is well respected. I thoroughly enjoyed taking her. She's funny, too.

She made media ethics interesting by bringing up real life examples and analyzing what's going on in the news. You learn a lot and she is clear while teaching. She tells you what's going to be on quizzes and tests so you just have to study and you'll get an A.

So sweet, loves her students, connects you if you apply yourself. She is a ridiculously hard grader on writing, but honestly, I loved that. I thought I was a talented writer; however, she pointed out my flaws and made me even stronger. I'd take her again

Don't think you can pull the proverbial wool over her eyes. She doesn't like when students BS. She's a fun lady. Extremely helpful to her students. Without her - I wouldn't hvae been able to graduate without my two internships. She really sees her students for people and not as a burden. Love her class. Brutally honest! TAKE HER CLASS.

Quigley is so totally awesome. She is on our level which is awesome. She makes the class easy and entertaining, which is good cause Media Ethics is so boring. There is absolutely nothing bad to say. Take her!

I've taken many classes with this professor and really enjoyed them all. She used to be the adviser for The Whit and is always willing to help out her students. Yes, you will browse the internet a lot during News II but usually it is relevant to the class. Media Ethics is easy and fun - she manages to make a fairly boring subject interesting.

This professor continues to amaze me, even after graduation. I have found a pattern with those who do not like her; they usually are expecting As without work. In reality, she is a teacher that advised me and made me love journalism so much. Those students who say she "lacks respect" usually don't give it first.

She is a horrible professor. All we do is browse the internet. Many of you might think that isn't bad but when she catches you on a site you shouldn't be on (email), she freaks out. She is a horrible teacher. If we aren't going to do anything constructive on the internet then let me play around. What a joke she is. She doesn't deserve a job.

She is a really great professor. She has published so many articles so she really knows what she's talking about. She is critical but not in a negative way, just to help you improve. I really thought this class was fun. I really enjoyed the two novels we got to read.

Quigley is one of the best professors I have ever had. She makes me want to be come a better writer and tells amazing stories from her life as a journalist. The class is really relaxed, you get to write stories that are your choice. Read two interesting novels that are written by journalists. This class is fun and its counts as JOUR. elective.

Plays favs. Can be very mean if she doesnt like you. Never wrote a single compliment on any of my papers, but had no shortage of snooty and sometimes hurtful remarks. This is despite the fact that they were well written and recieved decent grades. Responded to one e-mail in an extremelly offensive manner because I made a simple mistake.

Take her, take her, take her. Most interesting journalism prof at Rowan. She knows her stuff and she's actually interesting in class. You write lots of stuff and read many good stories.
