I didn't like his teaching style. He has a tendency to ramble off about random things and moved very slowly through his power points.

Class: Lectures are simply him reading power point slides that are on moodle. Tests and quizzes are multiple choice. Make sure you understand HOW something works, not just a definition. Lab: Try to take a statistics class beforehand if you can, otherwise you might get frustrated. Other than that I thought they were actually fun.

Great professor! Lectures aren't mandatory but it does help if you go. He gives four tests and 4 quizzes and thats all you are graded on. read the book and the chapter notes and study the study guide he makes and you will easily get a B.

Took Vogt for BIO102 & animal behavior, & he took all of his lesson plans straight from the txtbk. He's very passionate & knows a lot about wildlife bio, but his lectures are pretty boring & he goes on tangents often. Overall, he's a good 102 prof, but wouldn't recommend taking him for any higher level classes. Just read the txtbk & you'll be fine.

Really nice guy. He sometimes makes jokes during class to make it a little more interesting. Sometimes goes off on a tangent though. Really helpful especially if he is your lab professor.

Great professor! He is also my advisor and he is excellent. Very responsive and enthusiastic about the subject. Class was easy if you read the book. He does a lot of review and and bases his quizzes off of the discussion questions in the chapters. Read the book and you will have no problem with the class! :)

What an easy class! Anyone that needs a easy A take this! Only three homework assignments per semester! The class is broken down into three segments. Within each segment there are 2 quizzes and your lowest grade is dropped. There is a final within each segment which is multiple choice and very easy! I don't ever go to class only on quiz/test days!

He does not create his own lesson plans. Because the lecture is not mandatory he posts the lecture on ANGEL. The sideshows have a lot of pictures with a little bit of notes. The text is a must.

He's a very nice guy. Very good at presenting the class material for Intro to Evolution. It's a pretty good idea to get the textbook, even though you'll only be using it for a short time, because it helps to make the material easier to understand and absorb.

Vogt is totally useless. He never actually teaches anything, but will hold you responsible for knowing it. Doesn't seem to care about teaching and just wants to go to Australia.

I LOVE Dr. Vogt. I had him for comm. bio and ecology. The info presented is interesting. He is incredibly easygoing and always wants to help his students. He brings in tidbits everyday that relate to class--bio in the news--and allows discussion time. There's never a rush to get to class material. He's the best!

Dr. Vogt is a great teacher and advisor. His lectures aren't so bad, especially if you like power points. You definitely don't need to spend the money on the book. I would take Dr. Vogt time and time agian!

He just does powerpoints and talks. You dont have to go to class. His class was pretty boring but he takes 3 out of 4 quizzes and tests so thats a benefit.I never read the book but listened to his lectures and did ok.If you go to class and read the book you should be fine.

Dr. Vogt is pretty rad. Attendance isn't mandatory, which is pretty sweet since the lecture is pretty much pointless to go to. You have to read the book to learn anything, but his tests are fair, and he is genuinely a nice guy. Lab is awesome though, and I still reccommend him as a teacher for any class.

I have taken Bio 104 and am now taking Eco 304 with Vogt. He is a nice person but the worst professer i have had at plattsburgh. Even if you enjoy the material it is impossible to learn it though his rambling lectures, which he will bore you to sleep every time. Get another professor so that you actully enjoy the class and material. I wish I had

If Bio is about powerpoints, he is "great". He is the worst in lecturing, and goes through unimportant facts the whole time. A person who doesn't deserve to be in plattsburgh, and the tests were from some where else, not from his damn powerpoint. Lastword, you disgraced the field of biology.

He is SO funny. Attendance isn't required in lecture, which is cool. The slide shows are all on angel. His quizes can be tricky and so can the tests, but if you read the book you're fine. He's a really nice guy and a good teacher!
