Had him for chamber choir, he is a really good director. Be prepared to work hard, no slackers allowed. But he happy to take the time to work trouble spots in the music. For music majors he will also help you plan your classes so that you get all the music ones you need so you can be done in two years.

I had him for Music Theory I-IV and Sightsinging I-IV, and he is a great teacher who will make sure you understand the material as long as you apply yourself. He's easily one of the best teachers I've ever had. The only negative thing is that he isn't very good about returning your homework.

I had Mr. Ditch for Music Theory 1 through 4 and also for ear training and sight singing for 4 semesters and also 1 semester of chamber choir and i must say that Mr. Ditch is 1 of the BEST professors at SCC! He has made my time at SCC enjoyable! :-)

Loved the class! Mr. Ditch makes music appreciation fun--even if you don't appreciate music as much as he does! He is extremely helpful, always has office hours, and is passionate about music. I learned SO much in his class--and really enjoyed myself. Professors could really learn a lot by sitting in one of his classes! Thanks, Mr. Ditch!

the online music appreciation class is ridiculous. after listening to a couple of examples and reading 3 to 4 paragraphs you are expected to analyze classical music examples and be able to know everything - class is to hard and demanding - would have dropped if i could have -try in class

If you are looking for a quick humanity avoid the online class at ALL COST!!! The amount of work for 3 ridiuculous points is astronomical! I spend more time working on this class than my science and math classes combined! Many of the questions don't come out of the reading either - VERY TIME CONSUMING!!!

Ok I really enjoyed his class while I was there. Then I transfered to a 4 yr. and I get an IC for my grade on my transcript, turns out he lost my term paper & musical review and has no plans to find them, he expects me to write both of them over and turn them in for a new grade...OK I'm in another state & it was almost a year ago! NO HELP @ ALL!!

He is the coolest he doesnt leave ya hangin, he never lets you get behind, no question is a stupid question no matter what level of learning your in. Duh this is only the community college think of how it would be at a university with 100+ students.

You are pretty much on your own in his class. Mr. Ditch definately knows and loves what he does, but he teaching techniques are not really there. Not very good at returning tests/quizzes. A big disappointment. Be prepared to do alot of memorization of music.
