Personally, I thought this class taught me nothing. You memorize test questions and do 2 group projects and you're done. His stories can be quite interesting so there's that. How to get an A: show up (you don't even have to read), choose good group for projects, take the time to memorize the wiley book.

Called on students to answer questions based on photos. Separated them to good and bad piles for the day (and used this for your participation grade). Tests questions are from a CPA review book. Memorize questions and answers if you're pressed for time. He tells stories most of the class so be prepared. Easy A. 2 projects, 2 midterms, 1 final.

I LOVE THIS MAN. He's so funny and interesting. He teaches audit pretty well. The class is as easy as they come. For each exam you have about 200 questions to memorize and that's it. Group projects aren't bad at all. You must read the book though because he may call on you and you don't want to go to the bad pile.

Great guy, very funny and friendly. Attendance is important, participation is graded. He will make name cards and call to see if you read the book. Other than that, book is hardly used. Exams are unbelievably easy, but fair. Everyone has the chance to study and do well. Somewhat prepares you for the CPA exam too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TAKE HIM!

Lectures straight off power point slides from publisher. Content of cases is greater of importance than presentations...which could benefit some groups who struggle with public speaking. Tests are extremely confusing. READ! READ! READ!

Presents far to much material to digest. Requires exact word-for-word lecture essay test responses. Unrealistic expectations put on students to perform, with little retention level due to testing format. Unapproachable when faced with project problems. Comes off as proud that he is such a hard grader - seems like he might have an axe to grind.

Boring lectures. Never prepared. My time would have been better used reading the textbook at home. Papers graded competitively, but didn't seem like they were based on content - just on how long your paper is, pictures, etc. He gets his test from a test bank. So, just be sure to READ THE BOOK! Got an A, but the class was a waste of time.

He definitely knows auditing, but there seems to be a disconnect between his lectures and the tests, so you MUST read the book. He's nice but sort of hard to talk to. You get the feeling he doesn't want to hear about anything.

Professor seemed not to care about the students. Very nice person and you better believe he's sharp, but he is a researcher, not a teacher. My only recommendation for students taking audit, with or without Gray, is to truly read the book. Otherwise, you'll be lost no matter how good a listener or thinker you are. Boring PP lectures. Try to avoid.

The lectures are pretty useless since he spends a lot of time telling the class various stories. What makes it even worse is that the lectures have nothing to do with the test since he gets the test from the book's test bank. Reading the chapters and looking at the quizes in the back does not help; the tests are much more difficult. Also the profes

I originally gave him a rating that is inaccurate - Glen Gray is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. Yes, his tests are very hard, but he gives you hints as to what specifically to study ("classic" exam scenarios). Very knowledgeable in both the real world and academics, and the type of person who is open to any question about business.

He's a tough grader. Handouts and outlines are messy and confusing. Take DETAIL notes in his class. Grading system % does not match the amount of time dedicated to projects. Take a tape recorder to class if you want an A. Fun class if you like tech stories. Helpful with Q&A's.

Test are still essay form. His grading system is very unfair. 33% on projects (easy), and 66% on essay exams (hard). The material he gives us on hand-outs are cluttered. Nothing is taken from the expensive textbook, and he is very subjective with his style of grading on the test. There is no perfect answer to his essay questions. Avoid at all costs

Professor Gray expects students to learn the material and give it back on essay exams word for word. Projects have little to do with the exams. As someone in the IT field, the material is better and more thoroughly learned in the industry rather than just in a class with no hands on practice or experience. Unnecessarily difficult.

Interesting lectures b/c he tells stories. Pay attention, b/c he expects very detailed essay answers on exams. His grading isn't fair. For the presentation, he grades based on who has the most slides & pics. We built a database & he wanted pics. In the real world, you don't have pics in the database. but we used pics to get a good grade.

I don't know how anyone can give this teacher a good comment. His tests are essay, so you HAVE to write a MIN of 3 pages or he'll mark you down and you have to write WORD FOR WORD what he wants to read or it doens't matter if the answer is write or not you wont get credit. It's impossible to get a good grade in his class. I do not recommend him.

Dr. Gray is an excellent professor if you are willing to learn the material. He is very patient when students ask him questions. I enjoyed his class and wished that other professors were like him. Note: don't ask him any open ended questions in e-mails; otherwise, he won't reply. Only ask him that during class and in his office hours.
