It is physically impossible to read a dozen 400-600 page books while taking other classes. The workload was counter productive. You have to skim and and pray you can participate, or just quit like most of the class does. Good teacher, yes no question. But nobody in my class honestly read every thing. It's impossible.

Gwen Morgan is an exceptional professor. Few other professors know material and can present it as well as she does. She is a tough professor, but the improvement in your writing and thinking skills are worth it. Getting a good grade in a Gwen class is an accomplishment and a worthy challenge.

She definitely scared me at first, especially when I accidentally yawned during class and she took it as an insult and called me out. But, throughout the class I realized that she really is an amazing teacher; she loves the material, gets really into it, and is always willing to re-explain things or help with questions.

Amazing professor...she's kind of intimidating because she has no problem with calling students out, but it's so worth it! There aren't many quizes or homework besides reading, so the few papers and tests she gives count ALOT. She's pretty tough But if you can keep up there will be no problem.

ENGL 238 can be a tough course for those who have never studied a language and haven't taken an English class in years. Best Advice: Go to class prepared, review the material, do your homework, prepare to be corrected, and visit her office hours if you are not understanding the material. You may not realize it but she does want you to succeed.

She is one of the most difficult teachers in the department, but also the most intelligent. She will completely enlighten you on any subject she teaches. Her reading loads are not very heavy at all, but you should read CAREFULLY. Also, expect to do well-though and researched papers, and, if you do, you will get an A.
